Can't see Simoncelli agreeing to do it if he was all he was going to do was chug about at the back.Reckon he will really go for it ,whether he stays manages to stay on the damn thing for 2 whole races is another matter !.

I think Yamaha's hand has been forced to a degree by this new rule due to come in 2011 regarding rookie riders unable to go to factory teams. This means if Spies stays in WSBK for another year he could not be drafted into the factory Yamaha squad if Rossi or Lorenzo leave (both are out of contract then). If Spies goes to Tech 3 next year he will spend a year getting to know the bike, the circuits and be ready to jump to the factory squad in 2011 if required. That's my theory anyway.

Really hope Toseland gets the Pramac ride.Especially if (as it seems) its a bit more like a tip it in,stand it up and fire it out of the corners (while hanging on for dear life ! ) type of machine,if so it might just suit Toseland ?.Surely he must have some clout within the Ducati organisation ?,he did win a WSBK title for them (or have they already forgotten about that ?).

Regarding upcoming talent, couldn't agree more mate. There are some really strong guys on the way up at the moment. As for the Brits,Crutchlow,Camier and Rea in particular seem to be really on top of their games this year.

Awesome! I'd forgotten the WSB was on!

Hopefully he'll be given a bike of the same spec as Biaggi, so he wont just be bimbling round at the back. Will be very interesting I think......

On another note about JT, the MCN are reporting, (on literally every page they can), that he has lost his ride at tech3, though there is something from JT's manager saying that Pramac is a real option for next year.......hope so, I doubt he'll be given another chance if he leaves the class now. There's too much (younger)talent coming the other way - alot of which is British so it's not too much of a bad thing!

Aprilia should maybe give it a go too, their RSV racing in WSB is a tiny machine - maybe Pedrosa could give it a try!

Thought he had already ordered one of these ?!? :D

With BMW pulling out of F1 suppose it could be a possibility ?.They must have a few spare Euro's knocking about somewhere ?.A 'beemer screamer' would be a very welcome addition to the series IMO.

Agree with you mate,he has been in GP's for a while now and although he is occasionally very good more often than not he either crashes or is just generally pretty anonymous.Barbera,Bautista (and if he gets the Pramac ride Pasini) are strange choices for GP rides IMO,especially with the likes of Toseland,Vermuelen,Elias and De Angelis all currently unemployed for next year.

Couldn't agree more, I'd like to see someone like BMW enter the class. I think ultimately the WSB effort will be successful, which hopefully will push them in the direction of prototype racing.

Aprilia should maybe give it a go too, their RSV racing in WSB is a tiny machine - maybe Pedrosa could give it a try!

Haga & Fabrizio both stay with Ducati in WSBK for next year.So thats one less option for Toseland and Vermuelen.

If there is no room at Yamaha I still hope Toseland gets a GP ride. His chances at Pramac Ducati may possibly have been helped with the news Chris Vermuelen has recently announced in the Australian press that he has 'unfinished business' the WSBK series and would be happy to go back there if it was with a top team.Pramac are testing 250cc rider Mattia Pasini this week a very fast guy but he does tend to crash a lot (but he is Italian and Ducati apparently seem keen ?).As expected,Mika Kallio is widely reported to have resigned with them for next year so there will only be 1 seat up for grabs.Reckon we should know a bit more this weekend. One thing is for sure if Toseland can pull something special out of the bag,now would be a very good time to do it.

I've found this on the MCN site:

Yamaha Coy on Toseland's future.

I think this is just the official line until the next WSB or GP event when the line up for next year can be announced.

I really reckon Spies will surprise a lot of people next year as I think he has massive talent. That's still not to say I think Toseland deserves to lose his seat after a difficult season because I don't.His 2 huge pre-season crashes were hardly the ideal start to his season and he hasn't really seemed to bounce back for whatever reason ?.Also I don't think the huge losses Yamaha are currently suffering in this difficult economic climate have helped Toselands cause either. The American motorcycle market is huge business for them and surely having their blue eyed boy on a Yamaha GP bike must be a serious weapon for their marketing boys. One thought I have had regarding Toseland returning to WSBK with Yamaha (if indeed that is what he ends up doing) is he would be chasing a third world title with a third different manufacturer. If he managed to win it again, that would be fantastic. There can't be many riders who have achieved that ?,I'm not even sure if it has ever been done before ?.If he does return to WSBK (especially with Spies gone),surely he would have a chance ?.

EDIT : Or maybe Yamaha's huge losses were just due to Rossi and Lorenzo's wages ?!?! :P
