Sorry Pete ...sob....!
I see what you mean when you put it that way. I guess people like Ellison, Andrews etc may well be denied a 6th place finish because of it as well. Point taken, I'm convinced now. It's awful!

I think it's a crap system, the guy with the most points should win the title, seems to work well enough in just about every other form of motorsport.Tommy Hill has now had his lead at the top of the standings halfed. How unfair will it be if loses the championship by that amount of points ?.At the other end of the scale Alastair Seeley could decide not to bother turning up for the rest of the season and still finish sixth !.I think this system was brought in to spice the championship up a bit after Leon Camier walked it last year.As it happens though it was really close with the top 3 anyway and you could argue it's all a little bit unnecessary ?.
Anyway,rant officially over !.

As demonstrated with my ramblings above ! :)

I quite like the shootout system - it's a bit harsh for those who didn't make it, but does split the championship in to 3 parts - top 6, best of the rest, and the EVO class (which is really close too!).
As long as the racing is as exciting as the two yesterday I don't really mind what they do with the points!
Watching Hill and Laverty flying around that course (which on some corners had leaves scattered about!) was brilliant. I don't think I've enjoyed a BSB race so much this year

Scott Redding has announced that although he is ''gutted'' and still can't believe what happened at Misano he fully intends to continue racing in Moto2.This is really good news as he's a top lad and at only 17 the events of last weekend must have been very hard for him to deal with.He was really starting to get to grips with a Moto2 machine and once his injuries have healed I really hope he can return to the impressive form we have seen from him in recent races.

TBH I don't think the R1 has been the easiest superbike to ride this season. At times Crutchlow has also had issues on it (he couldn't get it off the line at the start of the season and for the most of the year suffered terribly with tyre wear during the races) although he has generally blown Toseland away on the same bike which I'm sure hasn't gone unnoticed by other team bosses.I'll be interested to see how Melandri gets on with it next year.

Sykes has been very good all year IMO but the bike just hasn't been up to the job of running at the front of the WSBK pack.He was simply awesome on it at Brands as a wildcard in BSB.It was a good reminder to anyone who thought he had forgotten how to ride a bike. There's a much needed brand new machine coming from Kawasaki for 2011 and it would be a travesty is Sykes was not on it IMO.

Yeah, the whole thing is totally messed up.I really feel for the marshall who dropped Tomizawa's stretcher as some people have been very critical of him.Seems very unfair to me,the marshall's should never have been told to move him in the first place. They would have just been responding to direction from race control. They should have stopped the race and got the medical guys straight to Tomizawa and Redding (let's not forget at this point he was also motionless but is thankfully going to OK).It may not have effected the outcome but I seriously doubt Tomizawa died as a result of his stretcher being dropped.

Thank you! I would say it's good to be back, but I was having such a nice holiday........
Anyway, Toseland has been dropped by Yamaha according to this week's MCN. A few sources reckon he'll be better on something like the BMW, so hopefully he'll get an opportunity somewhere else in the paddock, going to Yamaha doesn't really seem to have helped JT at all.
I think Tom Sykes has done himself a lot of favours with his performances over the weekend. I hope Kawasaki take notice.
Back to the Moto2 race - there's talk that the marshalls are going to be looking at manslaughter charges(story here). Regardless of what happens, I think this will rumble on for a fair while, not many people are very impressed with how the marshalls reacted.
On a lighter note, it was nice to see Pedrosa get another win. Stoner seemed to have an aweful race though. Have to admit was waiting for Pedrosa to pull a similar stunt to Laguna Seca

There are some very interesting comments over on Crash.net regarding the announcement on the MotoGP site.It seems few people are buying it and TBH I think there are some very good points being made on there.
Anyway, good to see you back around these parts Mr.Numnut ! :)
