Yeah, it was good to see Marquez getting mugged! Saying that I thought he actually rode well (and more to the point fair) at Silverstone. I honestly hope it continues as the guy is certainly fast, perhaps he is finally learning? Scott Redding is looking more and more comfortable on that Kalex as well, I really rate him.

I'm sure Crutchlow will get a factory chance next year, can't believe senior figures within the sport weren't seriously impressed with the job he did in the race at Silverstone (as well as throughout the year). Although I hope he doesn't go to Ducati, unless of course it turns out that the much anticipated major upgrades planned for Laguna Seca do finally get the damn thing to work!

this sounds interesting...

Yeah, I saw that yesterday - it either means Rossi is going to WSB on a ducati (the only way he's going to be near the front on one) or the 'Coca-Cola Monster Honda' team is about to be born!

I can't believe neither of us mentioned how great the British GP was! Crutchlow rode brilliantly (though I bet he regretted it after), and the Moto2 was (again) the best race of the day - nice to see marquez on the receiving end!

Don't forget GP is on Saturday this weekend, can Ben Spies finally produce a performance like he did last year and save his job...?

....if it's at the expense of Crutchlow getting a factory ride, I really hope not!

Yeah I noticed the Dukes were flying again in the wet and rubbish again in the dry. Sunday is looking pretty soggy so their luck might be in?

Of my personal list of guys I would love see given a chance in MotoGP Jonny Rea & Andrea Iannone would be at the top of it. You never know both may get a chance? If the sport does end up going all CRT from 2014 then it might just be worth guys like those considering jumping on one a year early? Look at how well some of the ex-evo teams have been going in BSB this year?

I did read somewhere that the rookie rule was indeed brought in to help satellite teams attract sponsorship by having young fast riders in their 'crashing year'. Rossi has recently admitted that he had a disguised factory Honda in his first year, reckon whatever happens Repsol will make sure Marquez gets one next year whether he is deserving of it or not.

Thought Dovi's recent 'I'm not scared of riding the Ducati' comment was a little strange, does he think there might be a spare seat there next year...?

Looks like silly season is really due to kick off now as Lorenzo resigns for Yamaha for the next 2 seasons.

I was a bit disappointed he signed so early really - I was looking forward to loads of rumour and hearsay for the next few months while it was all still up in the air!

Honda are allegedly pushing Dorna to drop the rookie rule for next year...

A lot of teams are (apparently) looking to get this dropped, it can't be anything to do with the machinery as satellite teams get factory bikes, so it's going to be more about the sponsorship side of things.

Marquez can't yet justify a factory ride - a sponsorship deal shouldn't get you in to a big team (I know it does really). HRC won't win with Pedrosa once Stoner's gone and marquez is going to spend at least a season binning it before doing anything good! I really don't know who's going to end up where!

There was talk of Jonny Rea moving across as HRC seem to like him a lot - though he'd still be a rookie.

It's looking like heavy rain across the UK this weekend....
.....Rossi is first in Fp1!!

Honda are allegedly pushing Dorna to drop the rookie rule for next year (obviously to allow Marquez into the Repsol team) but even if he was allowed surely he is a big risk as he is unproven in the premier class? I can think of a couple of riders who have come up after impressing in the intermediate series and really struggled in MotoGP (Aoyama & the returning Elias for example). Who knows it might pay off?, but it would definitely be a big gamble for Honda in my view.

I do think Marquez was out of line when he overtook someone down the straight and then immediately cut in front of them before turn one on Sunday though!

That was exactly what I was referring to and he does it all the time (even seen him doing it in practice!), I actually can't think of any other rider (in any class) who does this TBH. Gavin Emmett mentioned on the commentary for the Moto2 race (prior to the Espargaro incident) that if the 'Marquez Chop' was not actually illegal then it was certainly borderline...

Think Pedrosa called the Espargaro incident about right:

''When Jorge passed me it was a little different, but almost the same. I ran a little wide. I knew I left the door open. I didn't know if he was there, but I couldn't come back like no-one was there just in case. ''

and I would say that was pretty much what Marquez did.

No one wants to see penalties and appeals and counter appeals, we want the championship won fairly on track. I doubt the Pon's teams appeal will be successful but perhaps on this occasion Dorna flexing their muscles was not actually a totally bad thing?

Remember Marquez ignoring the chequered flag in Australia last year trying to get one last flyer in? He claimed he hadn't seen it...

Hopefully he may begin to think a bit more following his penalty scare on Sunday?

Yeah, the Norton TT bid will be very interesting! As for Guy Martin, a win this year is looking a big ask. Anstey, Donald and the Dunlop boys are just so quick on the 600's and McGuiness is looking untouchable on the big bikes. One thing about the TT is though is it always unpredictable so you never know? Would love to see him finally win one this year.

GP was alright, gutted for Spies though, throwing a potentially winning bike down the road can't be the best way to impress your employers. Thought Ellison did well again, actually been pretty impressed with him last couple of races.

I enjoyed the GP, I really thought Cal was going to get by Stoner though. Yeah Ellison did do well, I did read that Shakey (and Easton) have been named as official test riders so they'll get a go on the bike too.

Spies really is having a shocker this year, he came back well with good pace but seriously don't open the throttle when you're on the mud! Apparently the boss of Yamaha (not yam racing, just yamaha) had come to watch as well....

Moto2 was fantastic but what about Marquez....?

I think he does have a bad attitude, but I don't think he's the villain in this - as far as I can see it's a racing incident similar to the melandri/haslam/rea thing at donnington which was pretty similar in all honesty and no one got penalties for that.

Marquez was offline and was entitled to get back online which he tried to do. Espargaro tried to sneak through but didn't and they collided.

I don't think if it had been between Gino Rea and Elena Rossell anyone would have batted an eyelid!

I do think Marquez was out of line when he overtook someone down the straight and then immediately cut in front of them before turn one on Sunday though!

TT has been really good so far, 6 of my mates are over there this week but I couldn't get time off, keep getting texts of them sitting on a bank somewhere armed with a beer! The first Supersport race was incredible (apparently Anstey's win by 0.77sec was the second closest finish in history), the second one is on ITV4 tonight at 9PM (providing the weather clears up and it goes ahead).

I sit watching the TT with my mouth wide open most of the time. It's crazy! I've really enjoyed the coverage. It's a shame we had to wait a day to see the superstock, but I'd sooner have an hour per race rather than two races be rushed in to a 40 minute (+ adverts) program.

Doesn't look like it's gonna be guy martins year again and a real shame for connor cummins too. I think McGuinness might get to 20 this year...

I'm curious how the Norton is going to go in the Senior on Friday...

Moto2 was fantastic but what about Marquez....? Like I've said before I'm not his biggest fan TBH, he's fast but he just doesn't appear to have any respect for anyone around him. Apart from bowling off the unfortunate Espargaro he also cut up both Iannone & Luthi earlier in the race. The 1 min penalty he received for the Espargaro incident was strangely removed a couple of hours later?, never seem that before but I suppose he was a Spanish rider racing for a Spanish team with the backing of 2 big name Spanish companies in Spain, make of that what you will! Espargaro's Pons team have appealed against the revoking of the penalty as apart from the race result it has knocked Espargaro from the champonship lead down to third. Spalders posted on Twitter that he suspects that the penalty was probably Dorna 'officially' letting Marquez know that his ''cards are marked'' as he appears not to have taken much notice of the 'talking to' he was apparently given at Qatar, sounds plausible to me. Great to see Iannone finally getting to grips with that Speed Up though, like Rossi races just seem to come alive whenever he can run at the front.

Weather looks great for BSB this weekend, so aside from having to get up really early to get there it should be great!

Hopefully there won't be any crashes like the one last year with Simon Andrews and Steve Brogan (the one where the bike went about 50ft in the air!).

I'll keep an eye on that twitter account from now on too, it looks like they're having a good day! Ducati really need a break this year, so I hope this is the 'turning point' for them.
