Totally agree, Danny Kent is having a very impressive season. Been reading just how slow Bradley Smith's Tech3 bike was in a straight line at Mugello, makes his performance last weekend even more impressive really. As for Scott Redding, I really rate him but I can't help thinking he's a tad too big for a Moto2 bike. Apparently he's about 20KG heavier than the likes of Marquez and at 6ft he obviously can't get tucked in like those guys. I reckon that's got to be a big factor in that class, perhaps he would suit a bigger bike?

Yeah eurosport said he was losing 0.2sec a lap over the other guys - it doesn't sound much, but when you consider how close they all are, it's a lot!

I think Redding would do well on a GP bike, or a superbike - he's got a bit of the stoner mentality (I don't mean he's always caned!) about him in that he'll just get on and go as fast as he can - it could be good.

Forget Laguna Seca, the new Ducati engine is apparently now not going to be ready until September?

It's looking more like Brno or just after - which might not be good enough or soon enough for Rossi (especially as the honda boss has said 'i'll put rossi on a factory spec satellite honda' - visordown will tell you all about it).

I think he'll stay with Ducati, and will ultimately win, but who knows...

Not sure what the hell is going on there but if (as reported ) it sorts out the power delivery issues Rossi is known to have with the current power plant then they need it yesterday not in 2 months time!

As for the Fantasy League, at the end of the season I intend to be standing on the Freeola podium.

Translation: it looks like I'm heading for third!

Yet again the lower classes out-shine the main event (though not by as much this week)! - Moto3 was great to watch - Danny Kent is building himself a very good reputation!

You're right about Moto2, Iannone has often been a win-it or bin-it (sometimes just bin-it) rider, so either he's grown up or he was in italy and wanted some glory! Regardless, a damn good ride by him.

The tech3 bike looks to be getting better as well, it's nice to see bradley smith up the front again.

Visordown are running an article which confirms Elias as being sacked. Not good for him considering how good he used to be. Maybe a switch to WSB would do him good? (BMW announced that their factory team will be the BMW italia team next year, so thats 4 riders, 2 bikes and melandri already has a contact for next year).

Stoner really isn't doing me any favours in the fantasy league. I should have switched to Lorenzo. I'm not even first in our league anymore (neither are you by the way!). Not sure he shouldn't have been punished for his 'move' on bautista - Marquez would have been...

The Dukes looked much better this weekend, so hopefully they're on to something. Really harsh for Nicky that he got spat out the back of the group on the last few corners. I thought he'd be on the podium!

Fantastic ride by Iannone in the Moto2 race, very Rossi-esque. Restraint hasn't always been something Mr. Iannone has been famous for in the past but today he timed his attack to absolute perfection, it'll be a crime if he's not in MotoGP next year. Moto3 race was awesome as well, these classes are providing superb racing at the moment.

Under performing 2010 Moto 2 champion Toni Elias has apparently been 'released' by the Aspar team after today's race and yet Ben Spies by all accounts looks likely to keep his factory Yamaha ride, whoever said MotoGP was fair!

Stoner had a shocker of a weekend and Lorenzo seems to have started doing black mamba hand signals as part of his post race celebrations? :S

Ducati looked better today and are due to test their much anticipated upgrades at Mugello over the next few days. If all goes to plan then they should be on the bikes at the next round at Laguna Seca.

Yeah, I did see the Marquez announcement, no big surprise really was it? Still think that it's a big risk for Honda though, it might pay off in the long run but next year should definitely be interesting....

Carlo Pernat (Pramac boss) said earlier this week that he believed Crutchlow has already inked the deal. Maybe Cal knows something that we don't?, like this 'competitive bike' Rossi has been promised for next year is actually an Audi bankrolled Ducati....?

Yeah, as much as Cal says he's not signed anything, I think he probably will. He may as well give it a go, it doesn't look like anything is going to happen for him at yamaha now.

You've probably seen already, but Marquez to Repsol Honda has been confirmed today - I don't think that was in any doubt either, I just hope HRC have got their spare fairing panels ready, that bike is going to be bouncing down the track a fair bit next year!

Costly mistake by Stoner on Sunday.....

A few people are saying Stoner should have settled for 2nd - in hindsight he probably should've, but he did look like he could go just that little bit faster than pedrosa (who has also signed for another 2 years) - they're racers, they'll always try to beat the guy in front of them.

I don't think Pedrosa will ever win the title, it'll be lorenzos for a few years, then Marquez (or bradl) will be up to speed!

Costly mistake by Stoner on Sunday, he can't really afford to be throwing away 20 points at the moment. Maybe Pedrosa has an outside chance of the title now?, can't see him regularly beating Stoner and Lorenzo for the rest of the year but you never know?

Yeah, I agree Bautista's first corner dive was undoubtedly a bit of a bonehead move (and one which was was never going to work in a million years) but I don't believe he attempted it with any malicious attempt. Had to laugh at Crutchlow though, he said he was hard on the brakes when Bautista blasted past him still changing up! I think the penalty was basically because of him doing the same thing at Valencia last year and would have been a lot more severe had he not have been Spanish!

I would have been willing to give Cortese the benefit of the doubt for his on track conduct but he pulled the same crazy move about 3 times. Stoner posted on Twitter:

''Cortese needs to have more than a slap on the wrist for his riding in this race. He's going to cause a huge crash if he's doesn't stop it.''

Can't disagree with that.

As for Sofuoglu, totally inexcusable. The guy deserves to be thrown out of the series. Great race for Sam Lowes though!

WSB Race 2 was epic, Chaz Davies did an incredible job on that satellite Aprilia.

Italian press have been reporting this week that Ducati have apparently offered Crutchlow a 2 year contract. I've got a horrible feeling that if there's no chance of a factory Yamaha ride next year then he might actually consider it...

Moto3 was indeed unmissable! That was the highlight of the racing over the weekend for me - so glad danny kent got himself on the podium - seeing salom (i think it was) stropping his was down the pitlane was quite funny too!

Think people are going a bit mad about bautista really - Rossi did similar to Stoner - I.e took him out - last year and nothing happened.
I know bautista made a bad decision, but they've all done that.

How he gets stuck at the back of the grid and corteze can barge kent a couple of times without issue I don't know. Did you see sofuoglu in World Supersport?

Kind of good for the championship with Lorenzo 'missing' a week - makes things a bit more exciting.

Just a very quick heads up, (obviously not going to post any results in case you are in work) but today's Moto3 race is unmissable.
