As of today MotoGP & WSB are now owned by the same company
If the global economy does not improve perhaps we will be looking at one single production based series in a few years time?
The MCN had an interview with the Dorna guy - I think WSB is going to have a few cost saving measures introduced within the next few years, he didn't like the idea that a bike in a production based series would use 39 engines in a season!
Out of sheer stupidity I got up to watch the GP live yesterday - good race though, real shame for Cal, but at least it wasn't his fault. Was kind of hoping that Stoner would have got in the way of Lorenzo a bit more to close the gap at the front but at least the title is still open.
As always Moto2 was great, Marquez did well cutting through the field after trying to start in neutral!
Brilliant for Danny Kent, both for signing for Tech3 (they're a very british french team aren't they) and getting his first win. A good move on the last lap as well, Don't know what corteze was moaning about, I know he's apologised but still...he's not going to be popular in moto2 next year.
I've read a few things saying that danny kent's team didn't turn up to parc ferme to celebrate - not nice if true. I'm sure the team will appreciate the winners prize money he got for them though.
Now, BSB. Although none of the riders seem to have a good word to say about the showdown, it worked out well again. Alex Lowes couldn't have had a worse weekend, and Josh Brooks couldn't have done any more. I think Shakey scored the most points over the season so he is the 'proper' champion. Paul Bird looked really happy they'd one as well.
The supersport race was pretty exciting too!
I was very happy to see Guintoli win Race 1 though, you know for a bloke who's previous team said he was rubbish I think he did OK!!! Apparently he's favourite to partner Camier at Crescent Suzuki next year with Hopper taking a sabbatical in order to try and fix himself, can't help thinking that's probably a good idea.

“I was able to pick it up, but I came up on that wall really fast.....I thought I might hit it headfirst if I jumped off, so I let go right before impact. I'm sorry to tear up the bike, but I'm thankful for great safety equipment and to be okay.”
Sounds plausible as I'm sure things looked very different from onboard that Desmo.
Brands should be a great event as I'm sure the racing will be top class, think it's a triple header that weekend as well. I would definitely go if I lived as close to it as you.
Regarding the showdown I think there may be someone else who shares my view on it after this weekend..... the defending BSB champion!
I do see why you hate it so much, but to have the championship so close at the end of the season makes for more exciting races for us to watch. Whether it's fair or not is something else altogether.
Poor old Tommy Hill has dropped to 4th now though, if he wins the title it'll be nothing short of amazing! You can't begrudge Shakey the title though if he manages it, there's still 75 points up for grabs and there's plenty of crashers who might try too hard off the start and could make things interesting.
I'm thinking of going to Brands for the Sunday (it's only half hour or so up the road), after the final race of the season last year it could be a good day.
Moto2 & 3 were both epic, Scott Redding's pass on Iannone on the last lap was incredible. Don't think he is used to being on the receiving end of moves like that!
Think we all know why Marquez is so fast down the straights but I still suspect he might not be quite the MotoGP revelation many believe he will be.
...so he is on a 750 then? He'll have a 'lorenzo year' to begin with, where no bone in his body will remain unbroken then he'll be amazing I think.
Relieved to hear Nicky Hayden is OK
Yeah I forgot about that - why he didn't jump off I don't know - it looked like he had lots of time to get off, but he was probably moving much faster than it looked on tv - maybe he thought he would be safer staying on, but when he hit that fence and just flipped over you really didn't know what state he'd be in on the other side.

Yeah, I too read the thing about Rea and knowing the politics involved in this sport suspect there is probably some truth in it. Apparently HRC were all for him taking the Gresini ride but the small Italian team rely heavily on sponsors who it seems were not all that keen on having a British rider. It's a real shame as he did an amazing job again this weekend, finishing just a few seconds behind Bautista, who should really have blown him away given their massive difference in GP experience. On the plus side I can't believe Rea's impressive guest appearances have not gone unnoticed in the paddock and hopefully he will get his chance in the not too distant future.
Relieved to hear Nicky Hayden is OK, that was a horrible looking accident. He appeared to still be traveling at a fair old rate of knots when he ploughed in there. Perhaps there should be an air fence installed at the exit of that corner for next year?
Moto2 was (as it pretty much always is) awesome as well - good riding from the brits, especially Scott Redding.
Is there a chance Marquez gets a 750 engine instead of the 600 that everyone else has? he was absolutely flying away from people along that straight! I know he's light but....
Johnny Rea did well in the GP again, as did crutchlow, I was expecting a front end crash towards the end of the race as he tried to get by Dovi!
If it does turn out to be Rea's last play on the honda then I think he's made a really good impression. A few articles suggest he only lost out on the gresini ride because of their sponsors/his passport which is a bit sad.
Honda have announced they are going to release a road going version of their GP bike. That could make a real weapon as I presume it would be eligible to race in production classes? You might want to volunteer for some serious overtime if you fancy one though as they are apparently going to cost around £40,000!
I've no idea what it'll look like, how it will ride but I do want one!
Laguna Seca & Jerez are on the WSB calendar for next year, good stuff but the Silverstone MotoGP round is to be held in September...
I think Laguna will be good for WSB, lots of bikes flying around the corkscrew will be great!
I guess it's to do with the weather, but are we really likely to have less rain in september than in june?
Tommy Hill apparently has a chance to race in Paul Bird's CRT team in MotoGP next year as well as a couple of possibilities in WSB, presume his old Crescent Suzuki team and Ten Kate Honda? (if Rea leaves). Would like to see him get a chance to race at international level again, he's certainly good enough.
Yeah he's definitely up to it, but a decent ride in WSB has got to be a better option than a decent CRT bike. At least in WSB you've got some chance, but with CRT you're always bimbling round at the back (in comparison to the prototypes anyway)
