You did put a bit more effort in to your post though!
Maybe Guintoli can walk out on another contract to go to Aprilia? I read in the mcn this morning that he had already signed for the new alstare ducati team.
I hadn't seen anything about Aoyama, Moto2 would perhaps be more worthwhile than CRT especially as he won on a 250, though that depends on whether all MotoGP become CRT bikes in the next few years. I read somewhere that Yamaha were offering to provide engines/bikes/electronics for a nominal sum (in GP terms) in a similar way to Honda which would be good news. They did stress they wouldn't be M1s though, just a yamaha GP bike.
The mcn had an article about Sam Lowes new team, sounds promising especially with an option to move to WSB as well. If he does move up, there'll be almost as many brits in WSB as BSB!
Yeah I agree about this time of year being less fun (I've had to put the bike to sleep for winter already) - Eurosport have already started re-runs of this years GPs, so we'll just have to make do with those for a few months.
I've seen the crazy red bull people too, they really do not have any self preservation instinct!
I think I'm more excited about the tests than the (GP) race - what do you reckon - Rossi will:
a) Be amazing again and destroy everyone
b) Will just fall off
Biaggi has retired...
Ha ha, that'll teach me to make a cup of tea before posting! :)
Surprised to see Aoyama getting a CRT ride in MotoGP for next year, thought he might have gone to WSS or Moto2 (reckon he could have won in both of those classes). While Sam Lowes is moving to Yamaha's WSS squad on a multi year deal which looks like giving him an option to move to their WSB squad when the manufacturer returns to that championship (possibly as Rossi's teammate..?).
No bikes after this weekend (hate this time of year) but I have been watching Red Bull X-Fighters recently, that sport is totally mental......good though!
it doesn't look like Suzuki are coming to play for a while
I read that they only wanted to commit to one year initially, but dorna wanted at least 3 to get them in line with the other manufacturers. The last thing dorna want to do is scare aware factory teams - that's hardly going to help is it!
Herve Poncharal is no mug though, surely he must be confident Bradley can do the job?
Exactly, Bradley gets loads of **** written about him from the 'expert contributors' on the crash site, but he wouldn't have been given a chance on the off-chance he may keep it upright. World Champion material maybe not yet (it'll take a lot to start bothering lorenzo, pedrosa and (hopefully) rossi at the front), but he'll be around the right place.
Did you see Ant West has failed a drugs test? Apparently he had taken some 'nasal decongestant' for a cold which contained a banned substance.
I guess it might save you a little bit of weight (but then so would blowing your nose)!...when you normally run at the back of the grid I guess you'll take anything you can get...
I still enjoy bike racing more than any other sport but there's only so many times I can watch the replays of bikes sliding round corners!
Couldn't have put it better myself! :)
Yeah, hopefully next year will be a bit more exciting. If nothing else it will certainly be 'interesting' watching Marquez & Iannone getting to grips with their full blown GP machines! The sport really needs Rossi back at the front, I'm not convinced he is going to rip Lorenzo a new one but surely he has to do more with that bike than Spies has managed this year...? Despite all the rumours it doesn't look like Suzuki are coming to play for a while which is a bit of a disappointment, the sport desperately needs some more bikes.
Regarding Bradley Smith, I really hope he does impress in MotoGP, he's on a decent bike after all. I believe his performances in Moto2 have been very hard to judge because we know that the Tech3 bike is not very good (and there is only 1 other one out there to compare him against). Although a couple of mediocre seasons in the middle class are hardly what some might expect a guy moving to the premier class to have achieved. Herve Poncharal is no mug though, surely he must be confident Bradley can do the job? Like I said I'll be more than happy to eat my words on this one.
Did you see Ant West has failed a drugs test? Apparently he had taken some 'nasal decongestant' for a cold which contained a banned substance. He has been stripped of his points from the French GP and banned from the sport for a month. The whole thing sounds a bit weird to me, can't see that he would have done this on purpose as the punishment for getting caught for taking something of this kind would surely outweigh any gains? (if there even are any gains?).
If Ducati don't invest in the development of the Panigale then how is it going to be able to compete with the likes of the Aprilia, Kawasaki & BMW? Apparently it is a radically different beast to the 1098 so can't see much of the technology from that bike being transferred across. Despite the Althea split, Checa has announced that he is definitely staying with Ducati for next year. The Park N Go Team (who ran Chaz Davies this year) have impressed massively in their debut year maybe they could be a consideration?
Park N Go could definitely be an option, maybe we'll see a low key 'factory' team. Whatever happens, I don't think effenbert will get a look in though!
Yeah GP was terrible, what did Rossi say about struggling to stay awake?!!
Hopefully Marquez bouncing down the track next year will make things a little more exciting, and with Rossi on the Yam again we might see more battles for the lead. I still enjoy bike racing more than any other sport but there's only so many times I can watch the replays of bikes sliding round corners!
I'm still not convinced Bradley Smith is going to cut it in MotoGP next season, be very happy to be proven wrong though.
I think he'll be alright - it might be blind optimism, but he's good with set up (from what people say) and he's got some time to get used to the bike as well. I don't think Cal will be fighting with him for podiums next year but I also don't think he 'do a toseland'
Did you see Ducati have split with Althea in WSB. Something to do with budgets apparently. I don't think Ducati want to spend massively on the development of the new 1199 next year (or something like that).

Did see that Cluzel had signed for Fixi. He's done very well this year, hard to believe he's the same guy who used to crash out of pretty much every Moto2 race by about lap 4!
Yeah GP was terrible, what did Rossi say about struggling to stay awake?!! Strange circuit Phillip Island, how many times have we seen 1 guy just clear off into the distance there (Stoner, Rossi, Biaggi and suppose we should add Pol Espargaro to that list now). Great track but for some reason occasionally seems to produce rubbish races?

Good ride by Stoner, and Cal and the pressure obviously got to Pedrosa. Was really hoping he'd be able to take it to the last race.
As per usual Moto2 was great, nice to see Scott Redding not losing out massively 'smaller riders' down the straights, shame he didn't make the podium though. Espagaro was awesome, apparently no one has won by that much in moto2 in the dry. Hopefully it'll be between him and redding next year.

Also Jules Cluzel has got the other Fixi Suzuki ride (the one that Guintoli could have had) - should be good.
Old Maverick has completed his walk of shame and is now racing in Moto3 again. For the same team. Damn Kids throwing their toys out the pram!
Ha ha, hadn't seen that! Maybe it's time the lower classes introduced a naughty step...? Now Marquez is moving up there might actually be some room on it! :)
