Team WFR have quit BSB, while it looks like Swan will not be renewing their partnership with the Yamaha team, apparently if they are on the grid next year they will probably be a 1 bike outfit, not good news for the series.
That's quite a shock about WFR, seeing as how they did so well this year as well. I'd read a few bits about swan yamaha too, by all accounts tommy hill isn't staying with them next year regardless.
interview with Rossi
I saw this too, he's pretty much spot on. Did you see a clip they showed of Rossi clinging on to a marshall as they tried to wheel his bike away from him?
Old Maverick has completed his walk of shame and is now racing in Moto3 again. For the same team. Damn Kids throwing their toys out the pram!
Somehow I managed to miss this interview with Rossi on the BBC at the weekend, as ever he says what most people are thinking. The ''very difficult to stay awake'' comment made me laugh though, would love to hear his comments on modern day F1...
I didn't know Vinales team were witholding offers from him, it seems a bit more justified now! Still don't think walking away from a second place is worth while though.
Can't remember where I read it but that was the gist of the fallout. From what it sounds his manager got him to sign for an extra year in Moto3 with Blusens before moving up with their Moto2 team in 2014/15. Apparently Vinales signed and only found out later that there had been interest from other teams (Aspar was one, can't remember the other). It looks like his/Blusens team manager conveniently forgot to mention this to him...
Moto2 race is unmissable
Eurosport will repeat it over and over (and over) again this week so I'll try to catch it at some point then!
Ben Spies season now appears to have gone from extremely bad to even worse...
I saw that too( shame Cal can't get a go on the factory machine in his place really) - valencia is a little while away though so maybe he'll be alright for that (or even just for the testing the day after the race).

Ben Spies season now appears to have gone from extremely bad to even worse, he's been injured worse than first thought (in the crash in yesterdays race) and will definitely not appear at Philip Island.
I agree Vinales decision was a very strange one, apparently it was due to his (now former) team manager (who was also his personal manager) not passing on offers from rival teams (which it would appear that Vinales might actually have been rather interested in). Obviously been something of a conflict of interest there but even so would have thought Vinales would have seen out the season before walking. For sure he would have looked extremely foolish had Cortese not scored yesterday. I'm sure he will still get a good ride for next year but I would imagine some team bosses may have been less than impressed by his actions this weekend, justified or not. His parents obviously didn't name him Maverick for nothing!
Apparently Vinales has walked from the Blusens Moto3 team and will not race for the remainder of 2012...
Strange decision I thought. He's going to be a good rider, but when you're in with a chance of second in any world championship and throw a strop and walk away you're doing your future no favours! It's not like they gave him Danny Webbs bike to ride is it?
Didn't see moto2 or 3 yet (I know the results), but it sounded like a bit of a boat race!
The GP wasn't the most exciting race, but after Lorenzos (mightyly) impressive save I was really hoping they'd run for an extra lap or two so Stoner could get by and let Dani close the gap in the standings!
It looked a lot like silverstone last year, but with much more standing water. Impressive just to finish when it's like that.
Shame there's only 2 races left now - they seem to think Phillip Island is going to as wet as Malaysia but colder. That's not going to be a fun race.
I can't see stoner gifting Dani the victory, but I'd hope that Stoner gets in between him and Lorenzo so there's still a chance that come valencia the title could go either way. Who wins is irrelevant for me, I just want to see it go (properly) down to the last race!
I totally agree, Brookes has probably been the most consistent rider in BSB this year (as his points tally showed), with the Crescent WSB ride back up for grabs now I wonder if his legal team are looking into exactly how binding his Tyco BSB contract for next year really is!
did you get to go BTW?.
No we decided against it in the end, even though it turned out to be lovely sun shine all day!
I was well chuffed to see Shakey win though, don't think I've ever met anyone (except perhaps some of the 'experts' who post on Crash.net's comments section) who doesn't like him.
Crash.net is where all the experts are though...you mean they don't know what they're talking about?.
I know what you mean about Shakey, he's just a good clean rider, he doesn't make any enemies or do anything dangerous. He's always good in interviews either pre or post race which always helps with how you're perceived! To be fair though, I don't think Shakey is likely to be any different out of 'work'!
I'd not seen that about brookes having the most points if it was done properly. You can't begrudge the guy a BSB title, he's so much better than he was that year he wiped out half the field in one corner! It'd be good to see him on a decent WSB bike and see what he can do.
I saw about Guintoli leaving Suzuki - Could be a bad move I think as biaggi has been testing for next year with the others at Aragon.
As for the BSB showdown......***count to 3***......, yep it's still a complete joke and hopefully they will bin it off for next year as everything else about the championship (racing, professionalism of riders, teams) is fantastic, it's such a shame seeing it's finale being dumbed down like The X Factor or something. I was well chuffed to see Shakey win though, don't think I've ever met anyone (except perhaps some of the 'experts' who post on Crash.net's comments section) who doesn't like him. I suppose it's made up for the one he was robbed of last year and hopefully he will now stay in BSB and go for a championship record of 4 titles, think he could well do it. Don't think he'll go for the PBM CRT ride he has been linked to but I've seen stranger things happen in this sport.
EDIT2 !: Apparently Brookes would taken the title under the old scoring system although I doubt Shakey would have missed those races when injured if the showdown was not in place, so it's hard really to tell how it would have panned out.
Moto3 race was epic, Kent's win was overdue and has set him up nicely for the last few races. I was quite surprised to hear him commenting that Cortese was blaming him for that crash though? :S
EDIT: Missed the bit about him apologising in your post, hopefully he's learned from that (watch replay before shouting mouth off!).
Moto2 was great as ever, must admit had my eyes closed as the lights went out! (how the hell did everyone manage to miss Marquez?), he's a very lucky boy. Don't know what went on with Iannone though, he owned that race last year?
Thought GP was rubbish TBH (apart from Cal & Bautista going for it at the end), surprised to see him running out of fuel though, someone at Tech3 is in for it! Lorenzo is clearly just going to do what he has to from now on (who can blame him as that's what's going to win him the title) which isn't very exciting for us while Ben Spies showed us just how great those upgraded factory Yamaha brakes really are! ;)
Oh and Guintoli has apparently backed out off taking that Crescent Suzuki ride (much to Paul Denning's annoyance and frustration), could there be a factory Aprilia ride about to made available by one retiring world champion...?
