Josh Brookes at the TT
I've not had a chance to read anything about it yet, but will it be his first time there?
The motorcycle live show was pretty cool - as there were bikes everywhere it was pretty much heaven for me! I 'met' both Lorenzos and Crutchlows M1s (yamaha also had the bsb swan r1 there too).
John Mcguiness' blades from the tt and the endurance series were there. The TT bike was more stonechipped than my bike (and it's 12 years old)!
Laverty was there being interviewed by James Whitham and he said he had a 'big' announcement to make but couldn't until the following day - good for him going to GP, but for the team they've now got another rider who needs to learn the bike and the circuits again - I think Laverty gets the PBM chassis rather than Ellisons old bike.
Harsh for Ellison as I don't really know what PBM were expecting in terms of results. Paul Bird seems like a bit of a.... in some respects but he's got two well funded teams with british riders and has helped a lot of people on the way so I guess he deserves a fair amount of credit for some of it!
Gino Rea gets to stay in Moto2 next year as well, think it's a new team but he's still there, which is better than first thought as he was left of the provisional entry list!
Seems Marquez has been flying a bit in private testing too...
I'm pretty sure some footage will make itself available - apparently now biaggi has retired he doesn't really care about Rossi as a rival, we'll see...
Do you honestly believe that??!!! Respect to both of them for doing it and it's for a very good cause. Expect the likes of Corsi and Iannone to give to 110% as well, should be really good fun. Would happily donate to the foundation to watch it online.
Crash are saying that Michael Laverty is in line for one of the PBM rides next year. Laverty is a decent enough rider, but I would have thought a younger rider might be a better idea.
I don't know where the 2 british riders idea has gone, Yonny Hernandez (who I suspect isn't british), is rumoured to have the second ride. Probably something to do with Dorna.
Laverty?!!!, never saw that one coming! Not sure why he would seem a better bet than the booted Ellison though? Yonny Hernandez is an exciting rider (he was in Moto2 anyway, he didn't really get much chance to show that CRT this year) and he although he's very Colombian he certainly sounds Spanish enough for Dorna to have got involved!
Looks like Argentina has been dropped from next years calendar and the season start put back a week. Something to do with Argentina nationalising a lot of Respol owned companies!
Wasn't Argentina the track that F1 used to visit years ago but they stopped because team personnel were getting mugged on the way into the circuit?
I'm off to Motorcycle Live at the NEC on Monday, should be good I hope - I think Scott Redding is there that day as well as a fair few others...I'll see who I can run in to!
I expect a full report on my desk 9.30 Tuesday morning!!!
Yeah I know F1 is like going to the dark side, but it's still pretty good to watch. I'd never make plans around the races like I do with the bikes though - it's not that good!
Have watched it in the past and even attended a few races but it's rubbish these days in my opinion. 1997 F1 champion summed modern day gimmicky F1 up pretty well ''Useless, boring, not even racing''.
Shame the holiday/gp thing wouldn't work out - I've thought about a trip to le mans taking in the GP, but it pretty much always rains which isn't a very persuasive feature!
Tried for Estoril a couple of years ago (my mate asked his Mrs. as we were all going together) but the bosses vetoed it and wanted to go to Greece instead! :(
Have fun on Monday mate.

Yeah, agree I also thought Ellison did pretty well this year, BSB would seem a good choice for him but it looks like there's a shrinking number of competitive bikes out there for next year.
Enjoying F1 eh....shame on you! If they binned off those ridiculous overtaking gimmicks I might actually watch it
occasionally
Preziosi rumours confirmed, he's been 'relieved of his duties' at Ducati...
It sounded like he was expecting it really. There was a short interview with him in the MCN last week where he said something along the lines of "it's because of me when we win, so it's because of me when we lose", which I think is fair enough. I read this morning audi/ducati are planning for a proper title attempt in 2015.
Shakey staying in BSB next year, great news IMO.
Cool, someone to challenge brooks for the title then! I wonder who gets the PBM rides then - he's got 2 bikes up for grabs now that ellison has been given the boot. I don't think he's done that bad this year really...
...controlled rider/bike weight limit being introduced into the lower GP classes from 2013
Good news for those that aren't spanish midgets! Think Scott still loses out a bit in the weight front (just because he's bigger and heavier), but certainly not as much as he has done this year.
Hopefully he'll be up the front all next year.
I did intend to catch a little bit of the F1 this weekend (just to see the new Austin track) then completely forgot it was on! Apparently it got a big thumbs up from most of the F1 drivers and fans so it should be a good event next year.
I won't say it too loud, but the f1 was really good. I know they have boost buttons and other toys (an ejector seat would be awesome), but it was exciting to watch. The track looked good as well, there was a section of S bends modelled on maggotts/becketts which looked good and turn 1 was on a little bit of a hill which'll prove interesting with a load of bikes hurtling towards it!
Been dropping some not very subtle hints to Mrs. Santa about Silverstone tickets....
Good luck - why not try 'let's go to italy for a holiday and I'll leave you on the beach while I watch the gp at mugello' ? If rossi has a decent season on the yam, mugello will be a bit crazy I think.
Did you see Michael Rutter won the macau gp again, I think it's about 8 times he's won it now!

Been reading (can't remember where!) about the controlled rider/bike weight limit being introduced into the lower GP classes from 2013, that should really help Scott Redding. If that Kalex is as competitive as it looks so far then I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be a title contender next season.

Think it's safe to take little to no notice of today's times!, looks like Yamaha are off to Aragon (to escape the rain) so it's going to be very difficult to compare Rossi to the other runners, shame.
Think Gino Rea's struggling in the dry has been mainly down to him failing to get that bikes Showa suspension dialed in (Gresini were the only team to use it apparently). As soon as the rain came down Rea was usually fast (when he stayed onboard!), that doesn't point towards any lack of talent to me. A Kalex for next year would be nice, seems like the bike to be on for next year at the moment.
Yay, I came dead last.
Well done.... I won! (obviously by cheating though, I couldn't have beaten the two time freeola championship champion any other way...)
I checked the test times today and saw rossi 7 or seconds off the top time, then saw it was wet! Bit of an anti climax really, hopefully tomorrow will be better for them.
Hopefully Gino Rea will get another year in Moto2 - he's a decent rider no doubt about it, I think he needs to make a better impression in the dry though (or needs a better bike which isn't so far off in the dry).
Crash are running a story saying de puniet is going to be suzuki test rider next year. Hopefully this means the suzuki return is definitely going to happen. As a company suzuki have been closing a lot down over the past few weeks so it could still be unlikely that they'll return to gps.
About Marquez, the eurosport commentators made me laugh when he put his 'pass' on aegerter (if that's who he ran in to a bit) - something about trying a move like that on Colin Edwards...
