I did think Marquez pass was a tad harsh TBH but I am also glad he did not end up getting penalised for it (...and anyway he's far too Spanish for that!). He has apparently now apologised to the obviously miffed Lorenzo who has stated that he will return to his aggressive 250 ways if needs be.... can't wait!
Disappointed to hear that about Kiyo but not all that surprised, would be a sad end to his impressive superbike career if he got sent home after a handful of rounds.
Didn\'t take young Mr. Marquez long to return to his old ways did it...?
I thought it was a decent pass...Marquez was always going to try there. I'm surprised Lorenzo didn't anticipate it and try to go back inside him really. Nevermind, it was good to watch and with GPs it's nice to be able to say that!
Rumours that Pol Espargaro has already signed for Yamaha seem rife at the moment, if so then it\'s obviously at Tech 3, does that mean one of the current riders won\'t be there next year then?
Tech3 are planning on not having Cal there next year I think. So they (tech3) are covering themselves a bit. From what I've read, Yamaha are a bit annoyed they've been missing out on new talent like bradl, and marquez so are trying to get the next big thing!
I think there's going to be more leased M1 engines and RCVs next year so Pol might not go to tech3, he might have one of those instead.
I think bradders gets his full 2 years, same as Cal. First year to learn (and crash) and 2nd year to show some improvement. We'll see I guess.
Surely Scott Redding is going to be on some satellite teams shopping lists as well, he\'s riding superbly at the moment.
I think Ducati still like him, but I've read that his Marc VDS team are actually looking to move up to GP with him rather than lose him. He does need to be on a bigger bike though, I think he'll do well when he gets a chance.
BSB was good, did laugh at Sam Lowes frantically signalling to Alex to calm down though, not the most obvious person you would expect to be giving out that instruction!
Probably not something you'll see again! Odd to see Shakey have an off but I don't think he was going to beat Lowes in race 1 anyway.
They were chatting to the Samsung Honda boss between races. I don't think they're going to give Kiyo much longer. For a rider that is so good, it's quite sad to see him wobble around at the back.
Rumours that Pol Espargaro has already signed for Yamaha seem rife at the moment, if so then it's obviously at Tech 3, does that mean one of the current riders won't be there next year then? One is performing superbly but out of contract at the end of the year, the other has a contract (with I presume some kind of performance clause in it) and is currently struggling a little bit. Not sure how that is all going to pan out? Surely Scott Redding is going to be on some satellite teams shopping lists as well, he's riding superbly at the moment.
BSB was good, did laugh at Sam Lowes frantically signalling to Alex to calm down though, not the most obvious person you would expect to be giving out that instruction! Both of them are riding really well this year, think they're going to go on to big things in this sport. Kiyo seems to have lost the plot though, he was nowhere all weekend. BSS was great, couple of mega battles in that class.
Times look close for Jerez, think the racing should be good. Yeah, Cal is going very well as is Scott Redding.
You're right, unfortunately bike racing is nowhere near as popular as it should be in the UK, strange really as there are so many successful British riders in most of the big classes. You would think that would drum up some interest? Apparently Chaz Davies did win Welsh sportsman of the year 2012 .....clearly the highlight of his career!
EDIT: Just worked out it was Alex Lowes, she said he was very friendly!
...having to switch my internet and TV subscriptions to the abysmal BT wasn\'t very near the top of my to do list. Maybe if it does go ahead there might be some form of web based pay per view (like the Eurosport player), think SKY do that.
I'd think it'll be easy enough to watch online regardless of who it ends up with...you might just not understand the commentators very well...
I think it would be a backward step doing it here at least. Somewhere like Italy where bike racing is a national sport making the already huge audience pay for something they already want to watch isn't too much of a stupid idea, but here making an already (mostly) disinterested public pay for something they don't really know exists surely isn't going to work!
We'll see I guess.
FP1 and FP2 for Jerez today, crutchlow isn't doing too bad at all.
....or I could just join the masses and start watching a bunch of overpaid big girls blouses chasing a ball around a field for an hour and a half...
This sucks... :(
Yep, hopefully the BBC will keep it, or at very least Eurosport will. I don't think I'd bother to subscribe to an extra channel just for GP. Most of the time BSB and WSB is much better anyway!
Considering the idea is to increase viewing figures, potentially handing the rights to what is (unfortunately) a minority sport in this country to a pay per view provider probably isn't going to do anyone any favours...
