"So where the hell has SNIPER gone now?" asked Your Honour, turning to the other members of the party.
Grix shrugged, there were much bigger things to worry about than the whereabouts of SNIPER.
Ant however had seen SNIPER disappear, so decided to speak up "Well, he said we were a bunch of stupid morons trying to find this sword, and went off that way." Ant pointed towards a meadow.
"Well if he doesn't care about our homes being destroyed and us being enslaved then so be it. I do, and I vow to find the Sword of Nogard, and slay those foul beasts that attack our homes!" Cried Your Honour, and the three of them set off into the forest.
___________
SNIPER continued to wander through the meadow, it was a beautiful day, the suns were bright and the sky clear. Walking through the waist high grass amongst the butterfly was something that always helped to cheer SNIPER up. Maybe he should catch up with his friends he thought, and he too headed for the forest.
___________
pb marched up to FantasyMeister. "You can't keep sending our men out to die! We only have limited resources, and cannot fight them out there in the fields!"
"Then what would you suggest pb, letting those beasts inside our city walls, letting them slaughter our wives and feed on our children?" Replied FM looking down on pb.
"But we cannot hold out forever. We need help!" said pb shaking his head, as he walked away.
___________
SNIPER's mood had again changed for the worse. Where were those stupid idiots now? SNIPER looked round to see something catching the light in a clearing nearby. Maybe it was his friends! He ran into the clearing.
Moments later he realised that it was not his friends in the clearing, but something much more special. Stuck in the ground was a sword. The sword of Nogard! As SNIPER approached it he suddenly felt a chill in the air. The skies had clouded over, and the wind had picked up to such an extent that the trees creaked. If SNIPER could retrieve the sword, he would be a hero! No more would he be laughed at!
SNIPER grabbed the sword and pulled with all of his might. He could feel the first drops of a violent rain storm lash against his face. Still he pulled on the sword, until it gave up it's hold on the ground. SNIPER could feel great power within him as he held it.
He held it toward the skies as a sign of victory.
_____________
Grix didn't like this change in the weather. Not one bit. Why had it changed so suddenly? He could feel something strange in the air. "That way!" He cried, pointing towards a clearing nearby as thunder crashed in his ears and lightning lit up the skies.
_____________
"Aaaarghhhh!" Cried SNIPER as he was thrown to the ground. A lightning bolt had struck the sword and flowed through his body.
_____________
Your Honour was the first into the clearing. "It's SNIPER" he said, "Or at least it was...." he said, looking at the charred remains of his former companion.
"It looks as if we weren't the first at the scene" Said Ant, pointing towards some footprints leading out of the clearing. Next to these was a strange track, much like that that would be left be a sword, being dragged through grass........
“Are we just waiting for the Overlord’s servant, then?” Asked Grix
“Ah hmm.” Grunted Dan
“OK. Not doing anything then? Cards? Fighting? Watching anything? Just waiting for him to show up? No. OK then.”
A faint tapping can be heard. A face appears from the sky and looks puzzled. It is turbonutter. Grix reads his thoughts, and hears: “I wonder if I’m getting this right. I’ve only read this page as my friend’s PC’s Net connection is far to slow to wait to download the rest. Ah well. Here goes:” Grix looks worried, and wonders exactly how this story is going to continue. The face disappears.
“Hey everyone. I’ve a feeling the Overlord’s servant (Now to be known as The Servant) maybe coming quite soon.” Said Grix
“What gives you that impression?” Said Dan, worried.
“Oh. Intuition. Best not ask now. Or ever.”
“Right.”
Sure enough, the ground began to shake. The clouds in the sky above suddenly moved outwards, and left a circular gap through which the clear sky could be seen. The gap in the clouds shimmered for a second, and a swirling shape appeared. The shape throbbed and appeared to bend the surrounding sky. It formed a lump, which then formed a point. With a loud zing, great shafts of white light broke out of the fabric of the sky, and a beam thinner than an atom spouted out of the point. The beam widened, gradually, until it was 5 feat or so across. Unidentifiable things could be made out for a split second, until you looked at them, then they shifted into something else. A pulse of electric blue energy shot down the beam from the sky, and struck the ground with a sound of pure power. Lightning bolts spiked out and found the round, like the legs from a spider. The light faded, and the figure of The Servant could be seen, swathed in mist.
“Oh, damn.” Said Dan.
Meka looked at the hundreds of Sniper clones lead by Darth Sheepy.
Although this meant that Sheepy wasn't their main threat after all, they still had hundreds of Snipers to deal with...
I have this hidious fear of change, my life is somewhat of a ritual, so when something happens that disorientates me, it makes me worried and confused. Please ignore things I say in this period, but please try to listen to me in others, no matter how boring my posts are. ;0)
It turns out that this entire land is computer generated in order to bring him back to his mortal body.
He is waiting with PB, Sniper, FM, Dan and the giant Fogamster for the Overlords Servant (who was responsible for Grix's western dream) to show himself.
Sheepy has turned out to be a hacker and has created an army of Sniper clones that have come face to face with Meka Dragon, YH, Ant and Co.
And it's the REAL Sniper is holding the magical sword.
I went with the western for the first 3 pages and then gave up and waited for this one. I haven't kept up with this one completely but I know what I need to know.
No, of course not. Stupid of him to think so. It was quite resonable to expect people to read fifty pages of five hundred word long back-posts, wasn't it?
"Well... Umm..."
Dan dropped out of the sky.
"Having dream problems again Grix?"
He asked.
"I think that it's time you had a full explanation over what's going on."
PB and FM sighed, this was going to take a while.
"This world isn't real. You might even recognise it from that game we were making at swordspines. It is a computer network and we're all linked into it, just as some of us were with the Nintendo chip.
When you were trapped inside that cartrige, scientists imediately started working on a way to free you and came up with this. Make a game where you and your friends could fight off the overlord and return back to your body. It was an ingeneous plan but as always, things went wrong. The Overlords servant and his hackers have managed to find their way in.
Most off them caused glitches like Sniper clones while a few worked on making the orc army more powerful. Meka, Your Honour and the rest of them are dealing with this.
The Overlords servant however was much more dangerous. He hacked into your mind, hoping to destroy you before you could defeat his master. The Western Story was all in your head. The Overlords servant created it to destroy you. You survived it though, luckily.
Now he's finding another way to destroy you. He'll either show himself here or in your mind. Either way, I have to be there. I have seen what is going on in your mind."
Grix had a question.
"How come you've seen all this. And what's this I here about being Dan uk, Dan2K1, Darkness and M16 all in one?"
Dan smiled.
"Remember after the N-chip, it took a few weeks for my thinking to return to normal. I hated that. So to avoid being in the game 24/7. Dan2K1 and my self decided to take shifts, both appearing together when we needed to fight. I'm Dan uk now but earlier I was Dan2K1. We take it in turns to be Dan but we both come out to fight.
It was during my breaks that I checked your mind on the monitor. I saw that something was wrong and that it wasn't going to go to the origianl plan so I called the help of M16 and Darkness to assist in the big fight. I programmed in the M16 gun and Cloak of Darkness myself as a way of letting the play. Now when there's a fight, all of us participate.
Now we must wait for the Overlords servant to show himself. I will destroy this servant and then you will be able to fight the overlord, beating his hold on your mind until you are able to return back to your body."
They sat silently, thinking about what was just said.
PB broke the silence.
"So when we've finished here, we're going to wake up be to be confused and dim?"
Dan grinned and nodded. "Oh yes!"
YH gunned the throtle, tried to get ahead of the Sniper clone in the Delorean. Unfortunately the bad traffic made this extremely difficult. Luckily, this also made it hard for the Clone In The Delorean (as he shall now be known), to get above 88mph himself.
The Delorean was weaving through the traffic, using all of the moves from great car chases to try and evade his persuers. Again, like all car chases in the films, the bad guy has to make a bad error and crash into something like a telegraph pole or tree.

The Delorean was speeding round the corner, tyres sqealing, the taxi close behind. YH was glad he'd played M:SR a lot, he was also the glad the city he was driving round seemed almost identical to London.
The Clone In The Delorean had a perfect idea of where he was going. Straight to the fair ground. He was speeding through all the traffic faster than a strong curry through an inexperienced bowel. YH was trying his best to keep up, but the Clone was too fast.
The Delorean disappeared round the corner, then there was a huge BANG! (Well not quite, but it's the best word the author can think of that sounds like a car hitting a tree.).
The taxi rounded the corner just a few seconds later to see the Clone getting out of the wreckage and running off through the fairground. Everyone jumped out of the taxi, YH, Meka and whoever else started to run after the Clone.
The chase lasted for a long while, but the Clone had finally found his way to his destination. The Ghost Train. Without hesitation, the Clone jumped on the next empty car and entered the ride. His persuers wasted no time in climbing in cars behind.
The ride began, the goodies could see the Clone crouching in the car ahead of them. Suddenly there was a flash of bright light......

Meka was lying on the floor, his head hurt. He ached all over. He opened his eyes to see a pair of boots in front of his nose. The boots moved away slowly, then back again quickly, kicking him in the stomach. He curled up, trying to protect himself. He dimly heard a voice in th background. The foot stopped the kicking. Meka looked around. He could see Sniper's. Hundreds of them. all lined up, like an army.........
