So we don't get criticised for hijacking the F1 thread, here is the MotoGP thread!

Feel Free to discuss WSB and BSB too.

Just popped in to check my mails, hope everyone is OK.

GP was very interesting for me as my mate jumped up and screamed "Yessss!!!" when Pedrosa fell off as he really can´t stand him. Perfectly OK to do this in your front room but it was probably was not the wisest thing to do in a packed bar in Spain! I´m expecting wanted posters have already been put up for us at all Spanish airports so might not be back anytime soon! Race was rubbish apart from that but Moto2 was incredible. Really hope Iannone gets a GP ride next year, he´s awesome when he occassionally manages to stay upright!

Totally agree mate, Supersport race was epic. Seeley and Wilson have been a class apart this season.

Sucks that Loris Baz has lost his Motorpoint Yamaha ride due to sponsorship issues. Especially as he's in my fantasy team and the transfer window is shut!

I wondered what had happened to him yesterday - it was looking like it was going to happen for a while though.

BSB is the only time we're able to claw points back from Mrs Numnut as she's sacrificed BSB for better riders in the other two competitions, so that's pretty harsh for you!

I missed race one on sat as stupid sky box decided to error - on the plus side, i was at twickenham watching the rugby so i didn't mind too much!

The races on sunday were good though, I don't normally watch the support races, but watched the supersport one and really enjoyed it!

EDIT : BT seem to have finally fixed the problems with my phone line so life isn't all bad! They sorted the internet noise problem pretty quickly but then the phone didn't work properly. Couldn't be bothered anymore so I have lived with it until a couple of weeks ago when it mysteriously starting working again and it's been fine since?

Cheers for all of your help mate, really appreciated. I really do not have clue about these things as I'm sure you noticed! :)

No Problems! I thought that was sorted way back! Glad it's getting better though!

Sucks that Loris Baz has lost his Motorpoint Yamaha ride due to sponsorship issues. Especially as he's in my fantasy team and the transfer window is shut! I'm away from next week so it looks as though I'm going to get a proper bear mauling over the next couple of BSB meetings! (which are both 3 races as well). Not been a good week for Yamaha Superbike racing at all :(

Makes you wonder if taking the series off terrestrial free to air TV in Europe has also had some effect on sponsors bailing? Following the SKY/F1 thing I would be very surprised if MotoGP was not in danger of going the same way. Big manufacturers such as Ducati, Suzuki (who look increasingly likely not to be on the grid at all next season) and now Yamaha being forced to quit the WSBK championship is not good news at all. If there are any Yamaha's privately run in next years championship at the moment it looks unlikely that neither Melandri nor Laverty will be on board them and that would be a real shame as both have ridden superbly this year IMO.

Not sure what's going on there as they only re-signed Melandri last week? That is really crap news :(

I agree, I guess operating two teams (in GP and WSB) without a title sponsor is costing a lot more than they can deal with.

Though, since Ducati pulled out of the championship, Checa's bike has got better and better! That article did mention Yamaha would continue to supply parts for privateer teams, so it's not all bad, but certainly not good.

Silverstone races were good fun though - biaggi seems to have a nightmare whenever he races here! Good to see JT finish a race weekend as well, hope he starts getting a few decent results for the rest of the season.

Thought the GP was a bit rubbish TBH, even though Laguna Seca is my favourite track. Stoner's pass on Lorenzo was impressive though, that took big ones. After JL's massive practice crash I was surprised he was as strong as he was TBH. A 20 point championship lead with 8 races to go means it's far from all over yet. Should be a good end to the season.

You're right, aside from getting no points for the league it was a bit processional.

Surprised Lorenzo did as well as he did really, I though pedrosa and spies would have been closer to the front too. Nevermind, they can't all be edge of your seat stuff!

Roll on WSB and BSB!

Here's the Simoncelli story. It has been alleged that he has been instructed by Honda not to race Repsol bikes? Apart from being blatantly against the rules of the sport it may account for his relatively subdued (for him anyway!) performances over the last few GP's. With Filippo Preziosi apparently now working on an aluminum chassis for the Desmo it might finally transform it into something a little more rider friendly? If there is any truth to the Honda situation and Sic is probably going to lose his factory support for next year anyway then I wouldn't be all that surprised if he was seriously contemplating joining his mate at Ducati despite of their current problems. However, much as we love the guy he has struggled at times to stay on board one of the best handling bikes on the grid. I'm wondering how he would he get on with probably the worst?

Both Stoner and Lorenzo have stated that they will not race in Japan (both clearly forgetting the nationality of the manufacturer who pays their wages!). It will be interesting if one of them sneakily appears in FP1 while the other is lying on beach somewhere! Someone could end up looking pretty foolish come the end of the season if they end up losing the championship by 25 points..........
