Somethings not right - Rossi 2nd in FP2 behind Pedrosa......must be drenched!!

Spotted a funny comment on Crash earlier, someone said that Pedrosa must have been using his fake boating licence!

Hayden's right up there as well, so the conditions certainly seem to be suiting the Dukes. The Moto2 grid looks well mixed up as well so we could be in for a very interesting weekend?

Re. the Brett McCormick incident, I too have read comments squarely blaming Checa, the TV coverage didn't really catch the whole episode so I think that it is really quite difficult to comment. From what I understand though Checa had pitted for new slicks and was carving his way through the field (although he was a lap down on most of the runners), he caught McCormick and as he made his way past appeared to push him very wide which caused the accident. There seems to be a bit of confusion though, it appears that most riders were unaware that Checa was actually a lap down (lets be honest, not really a regular occurrence) and were defending their positions. As the very experienced World Champion is not known for being a dirty rider it seems as though the FIM have given him the benefit of the doubt and put it down to a 'racing incident'. I wonder if that would have been the case had the roles been reversed........?

I was reading the Rossi things with a fair few pinches of salt, but I think there may be a change for him if the desmo doesn't show any improvement...

Rain will certainly level the field a bit so who knows - I do like the flag to flag races where they get to change bikes!

I've read a few bits on Crash.net where the blame for the McCormick crash is being put on Checa - it did look really bad though, the guy just looked like rag doll as he came off the bike, and when they started chatting about vertebrae being cracked....it all sounded a lot like lascorz again (who reports say has use of his arms, but not legs as yet though there's still too much swelling....I really hope he recovers as well as McCormick is likely to!).

I was reading a road test of the new Ducati (the 1199) in the MCN this week where they compare it to all the other litre superbikes (not r1 or gsxr1000 though), and they had a comment from Tommy Hill in there talking about electronics on bikes - it's really weird to think that a road going superbike has more electronic gadets and controls than the BSB bikes do!

I agree WSB was great, especially for those of us who had Mr. Guintoli in their MCN team! Fantastic news that McCormick is going to be OK, that was a very nasty looking tumble. Sykes was just unlucky but he did have some serious pace around Assen last weekend, I'm sure that he will win races this year. Gutted for Haslam though, suppose it's easy for us screaming at our TV's for him to slow down but we could see a hell of a lot more than he could!

Yeah, I did read the Rossi stories, if you read the non- sensationalist Italian sites (yes there is ONE!) and reports are saying it's all rubbish. I honestly can't see him walking out on Ducati, apparently he has around 15 million reasons to stay.......sorry, I said reasons I meant Euro's! Seriously though, I've never known Rossi quit at anything, I seriously doubt that he intends to start now. Apparently the weather forecast for Jerez this weekend is not that great so you never know the red monsters might spring a surprise?

only a few days late....

WSB was good fun - actually made a point of watching the WSS race too. You just knew Lowes wasn't going to make it to the end (as much as you wanted him too)!!

Sykes looked like he had race one sewn up until that water hose blew, but I guess there was no option to get him off the track as it could have been anything coming out the back of the bike.

Haslam in the restarted race was pretty much the same as Lowes - you wanted him to stay up and take the win, but you kinda knew he wouldn't. Always when the commentator says 'he's 3 seconds ahead' and the track is drenched it never ends happy!!

It's Jerez this weekend too - really hoping for another result from crutchlow. I hope the Dukes are a bit more of a threat too, but I don't hold out much hope.

There was an MCN article (probably nonsense), but they were talking to Herve Poncharal regarding a CocaCola Rossi Yamaha team. The way it was written and what Herve was saying, it does sound like something that is being considered or at least talked about (though the MCN can be a bit like the Sun sometimes....)

I'm a bit disappointed not to be joint first anymore though!

I'm currently 10,833rd on the overall leaderboard, not very impressive is it?

I didn't know if you would have managed to watch the Thruxton races or not so I did not mention any results. BSS race was incredible though, shame they don't seem to show the Saturday races (unless I'm missing them?). Last years championship was the best I've followed since Bayliss & Edwards duked it out in WSB ten years ago and this year it looks like it could be every bit as good.

I too am enjoying the new format BSB, it's certainly providing exciting and unpredictable racing. Just hope the shootout doesn't rob the rightful winner come the end of the season.

BSB was good, Stuart Easton was incredible, to come back from those injuries (not to mention any mental scarring) and be so strong on a circuit like Thruxton is very impressive indeed, great to see.

Really enjoying watching the bikes sliding and fish-tailing this year! Impressive ride by Brooks and Lowry as well as Easton, not sure what happened to Laverty (michael that is) though.

BSS race was fantastic, anyone of 5/6 guys could have won that.

Didn't see it, so glad you didn't mention who won, maybe I'll watch it in the morning.

I've already had a go at changing my team, then I changed my mind and then changed it again, and again...I might have a look later...

I'm a bit disappointed not to be joint first anymore though!

I've honestly no idea who's favourite to win either championship at the moment which is exactly how it should be.

EDIT: Transfer window is now open BTW so I can replace Ant West who inexplicably decided to ditch the possibility of fighting for top positions in BSB so he could trundle around at the back of the Moto2 grid. Now that he is out of my team the fightback shall begin!

BSB organisers have now instigated the new no restart after a crash rule

This rule also covers practice sessions, qualifying etc. Seems a little OTT to me although I suppose that safety has to remain paramount?

Apparently Pekkanen's bike was discovered not to be the cause of the fuel leak which caused the BSS carnage last weekend so the fuel might not actually have been laid down from a crashed bike at all?

Still no further updates on Lascorz, hopefully that's a good sign?

Let's hope so, he injured a vertebrae up in his neck so it could be really bad for him.

GP was really good, very impressed with Cal. If he can keep that up hopefully Lin Jarvis will keep the Tech3 bikes reasonably updated over the course of the season.

I wonder if Cal could have stuck with the leaders had Dovi not been in his way? Doesn't really matter, a 4th is a brilliant result. I was really dreading him going to fast too soon and binning it though!

The Rossi nightmare unfortunately appears to be continuing...

The bike can't be that bad surely? Though the fact that someone like Melandri jumped off a ducati and went on to win in WSB says a lot.

If Sunday was anything to go by, Spies isn't going to be with Yam for much longer, so maybe Rossi will have his old seat back.....I really doubt it though.

Moto2 was incredible but that move by Marquez on Luthi was very harsh IMO. It's not the first time that he's pulled a stunt like that and although I'm not a fan of penalties and officials altering results etc. I would like to think that someone had a strong word with him about that after the race. That said I reckon if he had pulled that move on Iannone or Corsi he'd have spent the rest of the evening digging his Suter out of the Qatari gravel!

I think it was a bit of a harsh move, but it wasn't like Luthi didn't know he was there - they were side by side for a few seconds before luthi realised he had missed his braking point and was going to run on. It was harsh, but you're right, some other riders may have fought back a little more...

BSB Race 1 was great although stopping the event after the BSS carnage was totally the correct thing to do. Stuart Higgs has gone up marginally in my estimation but I'm still not a fan of his rubbish scoring system!

Don't think they could have done anything else really. Ben Wilson's bike just tipped sideways when he was braking in a straight line when they restarted the supersport race.

There was a lot of chatting afterwards about rule changes preventing riders getting back on their bikes after an off to stop that sort of thing happening again. Probably the right call if it's wet, but in the dry when you can more easily clean the track (or at least tell where the oil/fluid/scum has been cleaned) perhaps it's a bit unnecessary...
