Not that I'm interested anymore as I used to be in GP racing, mainly due to the stupidity of introducing more and more rules and regulations that at times completely baffle the 'old race viewer'. It's not so much about team tactics anymore, but about which teams can band together to apply 'technical objections' after the race has finished and so end up with the farce that is GP racing today.
Good luck to both Hamilton and Button during this year's Championship farce...I shall be a 'closet observer' but not a fan:-(
Still, there's always Button.
There is talk of Hamilton being disqualified from the whole Championship as what he did is a breach of the International Sporting Code. Worrying times for Hamilton fans.
Well, then the reason is good for docking the points, stupid thing to lie about really.
It's still annoying how the whole thing was handled, but at least Brawn GP drivers seem to be keeping their places/points (for now, anyway!).
Put simply, Hamilton said, on the day, that there was no contact with the team to tell him to let Trulli past. Today, radio transmissions were made available which contradicted Hamilton's statement and Hamilton also made comments to the media about chat between the team and Hamilton.
Looks like a mess that could have been avoided if Hamilton had told the truth and accepted the 4th place, although he should be 3rd because Trulli was not allowed to repass, but there you go.
As you may have heard, Hamilton and the team have had their points and place taken away after another look into the race incident that saw him gain a 1 place lead after the race ended.
While there may have been good reason, we don't know as no-one is releasing details and more importantly it puts the sport back in to the bad books of would be followers after just the first race.
If a decision has been made within 12 hours of the race finishing, it should be final unless a very major incident changes the outcome, not some minor discretion.
KERS does look good, in fact it reminds me of those early 90's arcade games using turbo which recharges over time. It's like a less powerful nitro without the flames!
Anyway, promising start to the year.
Those Ferraris were weird. They started off okay but Massa losing out to Hamilton on the pit stops was just bizarre. I didn't see his times but he must have been going so slowly to lose a fair chunk of time.
The KERS system looked very effective in the race. If used right, it is certainly helpful in getting past cars.
Malaysia is a different battle and I think reliability problems are more likely to show up there.
Murray Walker became a broadcasting legend during 50 years of commentating on F1 for the BBC.
Murray was the BBC's F1 commentator from 1948 until 1996, and continued in the same role for ITV until retiring in 2001.
He became a household name for his exuberant commentary style, which was famously described by critic Clive James as "like his trousers are on fire".
He was also famous for his infectious, and obvious, enthusiasm for his subject, and earned the nickname Muddly Talker for mis-speaking entertainingly in the heat of the moment.
Among his more famous utterances were: "I'll stop the startwatch", "you can cut the tension with a cricket stump", "excuse me while I interrupt myself" and, perhaps most famously of all, "unless I'm very much mistaken… and, yes, I am very much mistaken".
Murray will be a regular feature on the BBC Sport website in 2009, sharing his views of the weekend's racing and taking part in interactive sessions with F1 fans.
GO GO GO!
