Renault are difficult to read. They've never really been big budget and with the budget cuts across Formula 1, they will probably stick around.
Surely it's not long before both Toyotat & Williams get a good result. They both need one - Toyota have said that they can't justify the expenditure unless they're getting results. Williams need to do well to attract a title sponsor to replace RBS at the end of the season.
Could we lose more teams at the end of this year? Renault aren't exactly setting the world alight, I can see them pulling out if podiums don't come soon.
Decent enough race before then though. Just a shame it rains so hard there at that time of day. Could have really shaken things up.
Practice was interesting. Raikkonen at the end of the first session with smoke bellowing in his face was a sight. Sounds like it was KERS related which was a concern.
A bit of rain in the air in the 2nd session, causing a few to slide off the track but Ferrari looking good. KERS should be good around Malaysia although not so in the rain.
Looks pretty open after it all with not much between the teams.
The story is here.
Basically, they're saying that after last year's problems they didn't know what to do, it seems they get penalised if they let someone pass or not at the end of the day. The stewards didn't come back to them in a hurry and only decide to take up the case after the race, while McLaren tried to get an answer on the track.
The conversation in full seems to be something different to the available soundbite, not sure if that makes it any different though.
Of course, this comes from Martin Whitmarsh, so it's his word against theirs.
Any penalties place upon a driver or team should count towards the next race, saying you broke the rules therefore this shouldn't of happen so were rewriting history is pointless, a waste of time, a complete farce.
So Bernie, get your flux capacitor fixed and get back to the future cos im soon gonna start spending my sundays watching National Hot Rods instead of wasting my time following your on going circus parade.
Getting well fed up of this crap TBH.After a promising start to this years F1 championship it sadly looks like the FIA plan to screw it up as usual. If the reigning world champion does not get chance to defend his crown and the Brawn,Toyota etc. cars all get penalised due to the rear diffuser fiasco, what was looking like being an interesting season will quickly turn to a farce.Nevermind, the MotoGP season starts soon.
