Okay, how about this. For a small fee (we're talking a low low price here) a month, you get a number of small perks on the site (edit posts etc.) but the main draw is you get your own forum, and the only people that can post in it are decided by you. So no more spamming fools coming in and messing up your cultured discussion of the Iraq situation/boobs.

Obviously there'd be other perks too, but it's just an idea floating around in my head? Anyone interested?

i can see how that is related to this discussion.

Now to make the UN drown in it's own bureaucracy.

It's a good idea, but I don't know if I don't think that people would come to my forum to read my stuff.

I always feel I have to plonk it in front of the noses, to get it noticed.

I'd feel like crap if I got a forum, and no one ever went into it. :o(

£2.99 a month is like £35 a year. To chat on a forum? I'd rather listen to the inane babblings of FOG monkeys then pay that. Maybe £10 pa, anything more is nothing short of poppycock.

Coat them in sugar and I'll think about it.

Erm...yeah, whatever, I still spend quite a lot of time here, just doesn't seem like it. I don't have any extra input because I'm silly like that, so I'll leave it up to you lot.

There would be a whole other section, specifically for it, aside from the existing forums. There's be a general 'platinum' forum, for everyone who's paid the extra, plus a personal section with one forum for everyone who wishes to have their own place.

I'm not thinking much here, maybe £2.99 a month, but don't quote me on that because this is just an idea of mine I'd like to expand on (other people may have different ideas)

Yeah, I saw that :) Thing is, the SR Membership admin side is already in place, creating a wholly new admin side for forum subscriptions may cost more than it's worth (you'd know better than me as you know what systems are in place and I don't so I'll shurrup).

How about just having two SR Memberships? Standard for £7.50 a year and Premium for £8.50 a year which gives you forum perks?
