My point being didn't Nintendo say "they don't need fancy capabilities like dvd" funny that isn't it because without my PS2 I would not have been able to play it.
the TV output on the PC is also designed for other purposes (ie, u can just show the desktop if u want).

whats the difference? monitor or DVD...
I wouldn't have thought it would make much difference you probably need to sort your dvd software.

Anyway, don't know if this has been said already because I read the first few posts and got bored so skipped to the end.
Panasonic have launched their DVD/GC console, it's £300 Ithink and a bit bulkier but it still looks darn sexy, plays full-size DVDs and GC games, what else could you want?

Most UK TVs run at 50hz, the majority of newer ones run at 60hz, it's very unusual, unless you're rich, to have a TV supporting 100hz

I think you will find Xbox supports 100hz and high definition tv and that is PC monitor quality as long as you have a tv at 100hz.
