Yep that's right, there's been scores of these starting up, but all have failed. Let's make this thread a place for PC gamers to chat. Post anything you like in here, comments, reviews, but no spam please.

OK, lets keep this going gamers. For beige box and country!!
Or something like that. :)

having consoles and a nice beefy pc lets you experience the best of both worlds
you get the traditional rpgs on the pc (pen and paper type)
the FF style rpgs on the consoles
most of the best fps are on the pc
driving and fighting games are on consoles (well the best ones at least)
real time strategies are best on the pc
platforms are best on consoles

While I have two consoles, which I enjoy playing very much, I'd say the PC was much more of a games machine than any of the three consoles on the market at the moment.

With a console you're limited to only playing the game, but with a PC you can do much more besides. Download tons of neat little extra's, play online games which are much more easier to connect and play than any console will ever be, and if you're really skilled, design you're own version of a game you own with the free level editors you can get with them. PC gaming offers more to gamers than consoles.

I will probably never give up my PC for any of Sony’s or Nintendo’s efforts, because while they can produce some fine consoles, they can never scratch the surface of what games can do. That's something the PC shines at.

We're certainly not short of FPS this year, but then, we're not short on any genre at the moment.

Who says PC gaming is dead? It's thriving as much as any console, and while of course we still have the monopoly on online gaming, we ultimately rock.

As for Duke Nukem, I haven't played the demo yet, I'll wait til the game is out and download a... err... trial version of the game...

Yikes, only woke up at 12.50am in the morining, or afternoon. That's what you get for going to bed very late, and waking yourself up early. Still I don't feel as tired now, so there's one good thing anyway.

On another subject, has anyone played Duke Nukem: Manhatten Project yet? I've played the demo and it's quite fun, although I would have prefered it if I could play Duke Nukem Forever (is that the most ironic game name in the world or what?) instead. If you're intrested in the demo, here's the link, it's a big download, but worth it.

Back to the subject of PC games than, and it appears as if the PC will be getting back the x-box's no.1 selling games, Halo. I read in PCgamer, who have contacts in microsoft and bungie, that the game is definatly coming back to the PC, and whats more the conversion will be converted by Remedy, who made the rather cool Max Payne.

Though I have to say, CDV are making a much better looking and sounding game by the name of Breed, which is looking every bit as good as Halo. We'll see who out does who when they are released, but it doesn't seem PC gamers are short of great FPS this year.

The good thing about murderous jobs, they bring in the cash, so it's all worth it in the end. I would do overtime myself at my work, except for two things.

The first is I'm lazy, and most of the time can't be bothered to work a few hours extra, though I've always been like that. The second reason is I have managed to save up over £2000 in my bank, which for me is a bloody amazing amount of money to have. I don't really like spending large amounts of money, only when I need to, so I guess that explains it a little.

That said, I am planning to start a longer shift at work this September, which will add 3 hours to my 4-hour shift (that's right, only 4 hours. Told you I was lazy ;D), as I've now decided to stop being so lazy, and get out and earn more money. After all, this new shift will bring in the money, lots of it, and because I like saving, my bank balance will start looking very attractive indeed.

It is I!!

Back once more to haunt the land of the living, thriving on the 'inance?' witticisms throughout this thread.

You gotta stop this winning lark IB, I'm feeling quite left out. I would love to write a huge great post on something, and my fingertips are brimming with untapped power, but I just can't think of a decent subject to write about, any suggestions?

The regulars are still here I see, Cipro, IB, TJR, MJ, plus a few newcomers. Welcome youngsters to the big wide world of the PC Gaming Longest Thread. Your sneering deprecations are not appreciated (unless directed at IB, Jammy get), and discussion topics are saluted by all.
Is that enough for a motivational speech?

Just in case any of you are interested, the reason why I'm on so rarely nowadays is because I have just started a murderous new job that is killing me at a rapid rate, so I need all the rest I can get. It's all I can do to lift one finger after another to type here. Plus I'm very busy with other things, my family has a higher place in my life than you lot, sorry, and so have a lot of other things. But every now and then I'll be back for a quick glimmer of the real gaming life before I depart back into living hell. This current job ends round about August sometime, so I'll be back to usual the hopefully.

Until next time.......

It's very pretty. Certainly an enjoyable game. It's strategy, but cute.

I would definitely say it's worth buying, you'll want to complete it at least twice, and for the love of god, don't leave any Pikmin alone at night! Your heart will break when you see what happens!!

I know this is unrelated to PC gaming, but I've got to ask. IB, is Pikminany good? I hear it's a king of stratagy game which is a bit like lemmings, it looks good but I'm not too sure about buying it yet, so I'd like to know if it's worth getting.
