Yep that's right, there's been scores of these starting up, but all have failed. Let's make this thread a place for PC gamers to chat. Post anything you like in here, comments, reviews, but no spam please.

OK, lets keep this going gamers. For beige box and country!!
Or something like that. :)

Yep, sounds familiar, I somehow botched up my computer a few months ago which seemed to loose windows, in that ever time the PC started up, there would only be the facewall in the background, no toolbars, no icons, just the wallpaper. I hadn't a clue what I did or how to fix it, so a full restore had to be peformed.

I don't mind loosing small things like saved games, as they can be done again easily, it's just other important infomation, I my brother and sister may have saved that I care about when doing a full restore. That and having to reinstall all the programs and software which would have all been deleted. I guess we all have to be extra careful when on our computers.

Hi Guys!

Apols for my temporary absence. Did the dirty on my computer and pressed the wrong button, wiped off half of Windows in the process so had to cart it in for repairs.

Took the opportunity to have a few more Gb's added but then have had to re-install just about everything (Including my daughter's HP!!)

Am getting back up to speed now tho' and will hopefully contribute some more meaningless posts in the NTDF.

Looks like I'm the only one here today, reminds me of what this forum used to be like before it got a boost of posts a few weeks ago.

The first game I ever bought on my PC was command & conquer. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's the game which firsat got me into the stratagy genre, and one which has always kept me intrested in RTS games. That's why I've always stuck with the series, and that's why I'm very much looking forward to C&C: Generals.

I'll have been a PC gamer six years this October, I got my first computer way back in 1996 when I was still at bleeding High School. It was such a step up from the other games machines I owned, such as the Mega Drive and C64, it just excelled at areas in gaming I never knew where possible.

Of course the computer, like the one I have now, wasn't bought solely for games. There's no chance I or any one else in the house would spend nearly £1000 on a machine just to play computer games on. Yet that's one of the great things about PC's, they can play games, but can also do allot more besides.

Agreed, I find that there is a lot more in the way of challenge and "thinking" games on the PC than any console, and hence it has been my platform of choice ever since I started playing PC games 5 years ago.

Owning both does give you the best of both world of gaming, because lets face it while these consoles and the PC excel at some area's in gaming, they are lacking in others. Same with consoles, which is why owning both gives you more freedom and a wide selection of choice. Still if I where to only have one machine to play games on, I would choose the PC over any console.
