The scenes Monday night of Forest and County fans having a battle on the pitch weren't good and last night we lost 2-0 to Derby :(
> Does anyone mind if I convert this to football chat in general?
Done!
Not long until the season starts, last season I said if Forest don't get promoted it'll be a disaster, this season if they don't it'll be a bigger disaster!
I'm confident we can get promoted this season especially after the signings we've made.
Perch, Commons and Lennon all played from the start and in the second half Clingan and Bennett came on (you wouldn't believe how big Bennett is up close!) and the played flowed and we ended up easy 5-0 winners although a lot of it was down to the Ilkeston players running out of steam.
If we play like we did in the second half though I've got high hopes for the season.
Our previously sparse midfield is suddenly looking like our strongest area. Perch may have to revert to right-back to get a game...

Leeds is looking a bit dodgy at the minute.........
Hopefully you'll be able to come up for the match and we can have a beer :)
I'm still in shock that we'll be playing Forest AND Leeds next season. Plus I'll make Swansea away, as that'll probably be my local side :D
Bad luck on Forest not going up - rather you'd have gone up than Bristol City... But least you have Derby... if thats any consolation
Out of the 3 gone up though I can only really see Sunderland having a good chance of staying up.
Unsurprisingly Commons has rejected a new contract and will leave this summer which is a big blow and 9 other players have been released so there's a major shake up at the City Ground at the minute.
Should be an interesting transfer window what with the parachute payments ending for 3 of the clubs in the championship (Palace, Southampton & Norwich)and West Brom on the reduced payment for next season.
Just waiting for the League 1 fixtures now so I can plan any time off so it doesn't clash with any home league games.
