Or as it is otherwise known - The MLB Thread

So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

Zumaya, Detroit relief pitcher. gave the Cards 2 runs with a bad throw to 3rd. Is that what you were thinking of?

Yeah he did, cant remember who was pitching as i was out the room at the time but someone basically gave the Tigers 2 runs for nothing for a bad throw to third base.

Carpenter pitched a great game last night. Detroit were getting in all sorts of trouble, getting into bases loaded situations. Amazing they only gave up 5 runs.

Getting out pitched by Rogers at the moment. Was it pine tar on his hand in the early innings?

Rolan's home run was spot-on can see the Cards going on to win this now.

Just hope Reyes improves his fast balls and switches things up because his pitching has been very poor.

So, it's the Cards V the Tigers starting Saturday night. Should be an interesting series.

Yep, if the Cards had scored in the first inning when they had the bases loaded, it might have been a different game. It took them until the 7th inning to get another hit.

It was very much a game of pitchers last night.
