So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

WOW Toronto are top at the minute.

heh bit of bonehead play costs Tampa the game last night against the Twins as they get themselves caught up in a double play that should never have been in the top of the 9th.

Great outing from King Felix there and Ichiro's and Dice K's first meeting in about 8 years goes with a domination for DK. Ichiro was trying too hard there i think as the one swinging strikeout he got was abysmal, a total rookie error.

Heh, all that kerfuffle over Dice-K's start against Seattle and Hernandez throws a one hit shutout.

Yeah, I watched the Yankee game with Pavano pitching on NASN. The commentators were talking about Pavano and how he has been asking for help from Pettite and others. It seems to be working because he pitched very well.

A-Rod on fire at the moment. 1 bad game and he'll get booed again though...

Yea Papelbon does have some good stuff.

2 quality pitching performances from the Yankees in two days and one of them is from Pavano *falls down dead from shock*. Hopefully the rest of the rotation can get over their first week jitters and start delivering to.

I thought Boston were going to blow that lead when Pineiro started walking batters. I hadn't seen a lot of Papelbon but my word that fastball is good. That splitter drops like crazy too. He just totally overpowered 5 batters.

Yea earlier on i was down to about 40,000 when everyone else had 150,000 plus, managed to time it right though and doubled up twice in a couple of hands. Then i had to go for dinner so just went all in
