So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

A-God keeps it up with 2 more homers, currently on pace to hit 130 at the moment :-D Keep those socks high boy!!!

Stupid Sandman blows a 4 run lead though, good job he's getting it out the way now and not doing it in a AL East playoff series

hehe more than likely, the New York press is all about "what have you done for me lately?" Ah well he can enjoy it while it lasts, as long as he keeps hitting homers he'll be fine. Jeter must be pretty annoyed though his spotlight is being stolen :-D

Saw half of Houston V Cincinnati last night. Cincinnati's bullpen stunk. They gave 5 runs in the 8th inning handing Houston the lead. 6-2 down to 7-6 and then Houston added another in the 9th. The thing was, Cincinnati did almost exactly the same thing the night before...

hahaha what an awesome comeback, 6-2 down in the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs and then the Yanks go all clutch on the Indians with a Phelps homer, Jeter and Abreu singles and then that guy A-Rod stepping up to blast number 10 right out the yard.

The Yankees knocked Sowers out of the game and the Yankee bullpen has been rock solid, apart from the Rivera blip against Oakland.

Igawa gets his first big league win with a 9-2 win over Cleveland, pitching 6 strong innings and only giving up 2 runs while A-Rod continues to hit everything.

Watched Boston V Toronto last night. Dice-K had one bad inning, gave up 2 runs and lost. Boston have scored only 1 run in the las two outings with Dice-K on the mound.

Injuries always seem to be a problem for Yankee pitchers. Wang and Mussina on the DL I believe. Difficult when about half the rotation is missing. Got to win the games like the Pettite one against Oakland.
