Or as it is otherwise known - The MLB Thread

So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

He was the one that wrote "Juiced" which started off all the steroid investigations. He himself did admit to using them, hardly surprising when looking at him, freaking monster

Ouch, did Canseco have steroid accusations against him then or was it just a baseball stereotype kind of thing?

Was watching the Pro-Am Poker Classic last night as well where they have 2 celebrities and 4 professional poker players going at it with the celebs having an extra half more chips.

Last night they had Jose Canseco and he and Eric Lindgren were battling for a pot when Lindgren raised it all in and said *Let's juice it up a little shall we* with a massive grin on his face, while Cheryl Hines was wide eyed in shock, Phil Ivey looked away from Canseco to Hines and mouthed "wow" and John Juanda just stared right ahead with his usual smile. Canseco seemed a little annoyed the way he threw his cards down and he didn't speak again for about 5 more hands.

Shame Matusow wasn't there to make it even more awkward as i bet he'd have said something

Nice sweep of the Rangers to get some steam back into our season, two solid pitching performances from Moose and Pettitte showing that when we have our aces back we can actually pitch well. Also nice to see Mariano pick up the two saves to give him some more confidence.

I'm speechless over the Yankee pitcher injuries. It just isn't getting any better. Still, at least Hughes showed why he is so highly thought of before the injury.

Just finished watching the Arizona V Dodgers match. Decent pitching duel. Dodgers held on to win 2-1.

Another blooming hamstring injury, they really need to check the mounds or something or sack this new trainer. What a shame to as Hughes was on his way to making history, looks like the hype is to be believed. Have to wait another 4-6 weeks now though :-(

Heh, just finished watching Oakland against Boston. Boston up 4-2, Papelbon blows the save and Oakland hit a couple of doubles in the 10th to score the winning run.

The game that Five were going to be showing, the Cubs V Cards, has been postponed because of the death of Josh Hancock, a relief pitcher for the Cards.

If you have the ability to immerse yourself in it, you pick up the terminology quite quickly. I haven't been watching baseball that long. I think I started watching around the World Series in 2002 or 2003.

Another Yankee starter injured in last nights game. I don't think I've seen a team suffer so badly in one particular area like the Yankees have been through with their starters.
