Or as it is otherwise known - The MLB Thread

So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

Buerhle at the Red Sox might just seal the deal for Boston. Schilling (when healthy), Matsuzaka, Beckett (10-1 or something like that) and Buerhle is a formidable lineup.

yup, totally wasted that momentum. They really need to pick it up again soon especially if the rumours are true and Red Sox manage to pick up Beurhle as well.
Hopefully the Sox will pick up a bunch of injuries to their rotation like we had to suffer through

It's just tailed off again for the Yankees. Swept by Colorado and lost a series against San Francisco. I think the Yankees could do with the All Star break now, just to regroup.

Make that a 9 game winning streak and 7.5 games back now. Thanks Colorado, Boston just keep on slipping against them.

And to think we're doing this before the All Star Break, we're going to be REALLY hot after that :-D

8 game winning streak. The Yankees need to keep that form up as they've got the gap to 8.5 games back.

I hope Lilly wasn't getting paid per pitch.

Cheers for coming Ted.

And that's Pittsburgh swept out of New York. Not a great performance from either starter but A-Rod with 2 homers in the game and a lot of runs for the Yankees.

Yup tis probably the best we could have hoped for from Clemens, a very solid pitching display, playing against the Pirates to make his debut was probably the best thing, ease him in gently.

The Rocket with a good start and actually getting some run support for once. :)

5 straight for the Yankees now. 2 more wins and they'll be 500.

Both starters had good outings with the bullpen giving up the runs. That is criminal by the White Sox though. 9 runs in 2 innings when your starter only gives up 1.

Had a quick look through the 1st round draft for curiosity sake. That 1st Yankee pick seems like he had good stuff although the scouting said he struggle as a starter.
