Or as it is otherwise known - The MLB Thread

So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

Nice win last night though sucky for Contreras whose bullpen absolutely blew it for him with 9 runs coming after he left.

A-God with a grand slam to, woooo, nice to see him finally become clutch

Yep, Wang is back to his dominating best but he did that before and got hit around again the next outing. Needs some consistency.

2 out of 3 against the White Sox is good and they are edging towards .500.

Very nice outing from Wang last night, giving the bullpen some much needed rest with a great complete game. Only 31 hitters faced. Lovely.

Cabrera seems to have a rifle for an arm, Owens is no slouch and he just gunned him down easy.

Once again a Yankees base runner is safe and the umps blow the call.

I saw all 3 Yankee V Boston games over the weekend. There just doesn't seem to be any letup in the Yankee pitching woes though. DeSalvo out after 1 1/3 innings against the White Sox.

Not a great day for the Yankees last night. Clemens out with a sore groin and won't start Monday, Yankees blowing a few leads and Boston knocking out Mientkiewicz. I'm not sure if playing Proctor was the best idea.

It is amazing the amount of hit Yankees batters against the Red Sox with little retaliation

When he walked in the run early on, he was just missing the plate and he really should have given up a lot more but he escaped with a double play.

It was a funny game. I've seen so many hit batters in a long time. Youkilis was still spitting chips when he was back in the dugout.

You crowd the plate with that big old bad head and chances are you're getting a baseball heading your way, deal with it, stupid Red Sox. Of course Josh will probably paint Proctor as the fastball throwing machine of death who tried to end Youk's career on sunday.

Wakefield didn't get much help from the catcher either, couple of balls that slipped by that really shouldn't have

Yep, Wakefield was pretty hopeless and Wang wasn't that good either. He only gave up 3 runs though. Wakefield was walking a lot of batters, but then the Red Sox were walking a lot of batters the entire game.

Abreu was definitely safe. Proctor was probably right to be ejected as the ball was pretty close to Youkilis' head, although he has a big head anyway.

The Yankees also injured Lowell and Drew is out with a hamstring strain. :)

Heh nice birthday present last night with a good Yankees win over the Red Sox as we take advantage of some more poor control of the Knuckler of Wakefield. Torre having some poor control of his temper to by getting thrown out the game although Abreu was safe and we get the obligatory bench clearing late on from the idiot Red Sox despite A-Rod getting pretty much the exact same plunking and just going to 1st Base.
