So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.
Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks
A-God with a grand slam to, woooo, nice to see him finally become clutch
2 out of 3 against the White Sox is good and they are edging towards .500.
Cabrera seems to have a rifle for an arm, Owens is no slouch and he just gunned him down easy.
Once again a Yankees base runner is safe and the umps blow the call.
It was a funny game. I've seen so many hit batters in a long time. Youkilis was still spitting chips when he was back in the dugout.
Wakefield didn't get much help from the catcher either, couple of balls that slipped by that really shouldn't have
Abreu was definitely safe. Proctor was probably right to be ejected as the ball was pretty close to Youkilis' head, although he has a big head anyway.
The Yankees also injured Lowell and Drew is out with a hamstring strain. :)
