Or as it is otherwise known - The MLB Thread

So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

Teixiera and Mahay for Saltalamacchia and 3 prospects, one apparently a top prospect at short stop.

I would rather have kept Saltalamacchia myself.

And a good outing from Mussina which is a good sign, can't remember the last time he had a good one. Hope he can keep it up

Another A-Rod home run and another win. 6 in a row and the Yankees are closing in on the division and the Wild Card. A-Rod needs one home run for 500 career.

Heh, the last 5 games the Yankees have played, they've scored a total of 63 runs. That's an average of 12 (roughly) a game.

I think that's 2 games in a row that they totally beat up on the Devil Rays. If only the offense could do that every game, they wouldn't need pitching. :)

Hmmm doubt the Devil Rays will be beating the Yankees again anytime soon, just seemed to p*ss them off and beat them like they owed them money.

Go go Shelly Duncan

Yep, it's been a great start and they'll have to continue that form. They showed the Yankee schedule for the next 15-20 games and they are all teams with records under .500. Tampa Bay, Royals, Orioles and the Blue Jays again I think.
