So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.
Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks
Had to laugh at the "Welcome to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field" sign after watching some Steve Bartman videos on youtube. I think he might disagree with that :-D
The Cubs were a long way back before the All Star break. 2nd best record (behind the Yankees) since then.
Cubs = teh cursed!!!!!!
Bonds hit 755 yesterday too but you probably don't care about that one. :)
Far as our trade goes that's kind of crappy for both teams, Proctor because he's utterly useless and Betermit because he doesn't add anything to the team other than being a slightly better younger version of Cairo with the ability to switch hit. I guess Cash is putting his faith into Chamberlain for the bullpen
The Red Sox get Gagne. I don't understand that one. They've got Okajima and Papelbon and I'm sure the rest of the bullpen can handle the load, so why sign Gagne to be the setup guy and close every so often?
