Hi, i need help on this topic. At the moment i have a 56k modem which gets very annoying. And the pings i have on some online games are terrible.
So i am considering getting a faster connection. So far i have seen The blue yonder cable one, which is avaliable in my area. And a few Adsl providers, but they seem to be more expensive. Can you suggest any good ones to me, because i dont know much on this subject, and wouldn't want to get one that was always slow, and had technical difficulties.
So which are my best options ?
Thanks , Dave

They have just finished installing blue yonder broadband, i've tried it, and am amazed at the speed. Am very happy :)
They had a bit of trouble, but after a while it was all working well.
Thanks for the help and advice.

You can always cross your fingers and hope your selected by Microsoft as the winner to the competition that no ones heard of, where you win a copy of WinME, other than that I have no idea, very sorry, phone them up and ask them what you can do, no doubt it's quite a common case.

I've got no idea if they'll need it, but since they asked it's probably best to get your mits on a copy, if you havn't got one ask a mate, buying a copy might not be a bad idea just incase something goes wrong, i've got no idea what version you've got, if it's '98 it might not be such a bad idea. Theres no doubt a better solution, but I can't think of one.

sadly my mum was here when it was installed, she has no idea what happened, she was more annoyed about them drilling through my wall, they'll probably need it to install drivers as Turbonutter said, you need the network neighbourhood thing, so that might be messed up on your pc, hence the OS cd.
the NIC card will more than likely be put in one of your PCI slots, no doubt you'll have at least one free.

Er...

If it's an ISA then the ISA slot, if it's a PCI then the PCI slot...

It should fit in at least one of them, ty the ones nearer the top of your case (but not the AGP bus!)
