After a lot of thinking I have decided to get a GAMECUBE and with a bit of luck I will have it before this weekend :) However before I decide to jump in and make the purchase I need some help. Please would you try to answer the questions below and explain to me about each one, thanks!

1. I have a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround sound system which currently is home to my Xbox but I need information on the GameCube's sound qualitys. I know that it doesn't support Dolby Digital but I am aware that it does support PRO LOGIC and PRO LOGIC 2. However, does anyone know what I will need to purchase to get that up and running? Do I just need an advanced scart cable with OPTICAL INPUT or do I need something else to connect it to my 5.1 AMP? (It supports DTS, PRO LOGIC, PRO LOGIC 2 as well)

2. I am planning to get Residnet Evil with it but as of yet that is all I am planning. I have heard about Eternal Darkness and Rougue Leader etc but what other game in that genre will cater for my gameing needs? I like FPS game, Action/Adventure and Shooting games. Any game listed with a bit of information would be appraciated.

3. What up and coming games should I be looking out for (besides Metroid Prime and Legend of Zelda)?

4. I like the Xbox controller and I was wondering if there were any 3rd Party controllers that were like it?

5. Is DIE HARD VENDETTA any good as I am a HUGE Die Hard fan and the review I have read haven't impressed me, but what do you think?

Any additional information would be greatfull appreciated as I am unaware of the Capabilities as of yet!

Thanks

I use eBay and I'm not 18, it really isn't a problem. I'm assuming you use a parents credit card to buy stuff online anyway, so just sign up in their name.

By the way, Resi will have the better graphics but Eternal Darkness is a much better game - atmosphere, gameplay, and you won't have played it on the PSOne either ;-).

Besides, last I heard Resi doesn't support surround sound...

Incidently, I got a Pro Logic Surround Sound set for Christmas...

Not quite the "bullets wizzing past my head" that Alistair described on his 5.1 :-), but pretty good all the same.

If the system does support Dolby Pro Logic then it should have two sockets for scart connectors - one red and one white.
When you get your Gamecube, it's scart lead will consist of 3 wires (which all plug into this one scart plug). One will be yellow (which the picture goes through), the other two will be the white and red ones which you plug into your Dolby system.

Piece of cake.

I have sold Silent Hill 2 for the Xbox on Ebay and I have had enquires about my Electronic Keyboard so as soon as someone buys my keyboard my mom and dad will give me the money to go out and buy a GameCube :D Not bad to say it is something I don' use and Silent Hill 2 wasn't that good anyway. Resident Evil always has been my favourite survival horror game and I shall salute this by making it my first GameCube purchase. By the time I have unlocked all of the endings Resident Evil Zero, Skies of Arcadia: Legends (hopefully) and Metroid Prime will be out. Along with them, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball, Operation Flashpoint and Metal Gear Solid: Substance will be released for the Xbox so I should have a few titles to look forward to :)

I have the Xbox version of Nightfire and it is a Great game! I have platinumed every level and it took about 15 hours so its good value. The Multi-Player is by far the games weakest point even with Bots, the levels are dull and too small. What do you think to renting SSBM? I am going to rent games like Die Hard, Mario Sunshine, SSBM etc so that I can see what they are like first in single player mode. What is Eternal Darkness like? Is it just like Resident Evil or is it different? Does it have a fixed camera or does it follow the camera character? I am going to get it because I like that style of game.

Are you including Ace Mode in that?

I've had it since release and still haven't even unlocked that yet.

well

You shouldn't misunderstand then

Smash Bros is a personal choice, I've racked up over 100 hours of the single player alone.
