I should REALLY get around to learning to drive, even though I have been saying that since November.

There's one of those in Brentwood town center!

It's a biatch of a roundabout(s)!

Luckily I've never driven over it!

So who's got their tests booked?

Had another lesson this morning, in which I tackled some frustrating double-roundabouts...

God, I hate those things!!
Really, what is the point in joining 2 roundabouts together?!?
Why not just have a normal crossroads, for crying-out-loud?!?

I didn't do that badly or anything (thanks to the help from my instructor), but I just don't see how it can be a convenience to have you stopping at give-way lines in the middle of the damn thing, breaking up the flow of it all, and confusing EVERYONE (especially if someone gets it wrong)...

My replaced - and updated - "Driving Test Success Theory 2003" CDs also arrived this morning, and I'm glad to find that I can actually practise the Hazard Perception element, viewing ALL of the clips, each time, without the computer 'crashing', 'locking-up', or even coming up with nothing but a blank-screen!

This time next-week, I'll be able to tell you whether-or-not I've passed my Theory Test...! I'm more-than-confident I'll be able to do the test itself, after getting 34s and 35s in the practise papers, recently. But I just need to practise the HP side, a little more to get a HIGHER pass-mark, and to not just scrape-it with a 41!

I had my 10th lesson on Friday in the pouring rain, and my first hour-and-a-half lesson earlier today.

I didn't do too-well driving "normally" on Friday, due to the fact that I began braking slightly late, and only use my left-hand to steer, holding it with the right - even though I'm right-handed.

Strange, that...

I also did some 'reverse parking' in that same lesson, and did it quite well, too. It really is a lot easier that it looks (providing your left-mirror is positioned correctly).

My braking seemed to have improve in today's lesson, although he still wants me to 'practise' on my steering at home.

Went along some carrigeways today, and into Bristol.
Did a lot of junctions - including a box one, some roundabouts, and even some normal two-way roads with cars flooding either-side.
Also did a random 3-point-turn - and I also did one at work yesterday, while almost hitting some 'walkers' as I span back around a little too-fast.

And it's only two-weeks untill my Theory Test! :)

9th today

Almost hit a car at roundabout
And erm forgot to turn off at one roundabout as well

I hate roundabouts

He still isn't doing manouveurs(sp)... he says I should master driving first then just do them a lot later on.

Parallel park is probably the easiest of the lot.

Park parallel with the car you are reversing behind so that your shoulders are level with the front bumper of the other car, now, slowly begin to reverse and when your shoulders are level with the handle of the drivers door begin to turn the wheel left. When the front of the car reaches the 1 o'clock position put the steering wheel into full right hand lock and then marvel at how neat the manouvre was.

The key to passing your driving test is all in a can of red bull.

No really, just drink a can of that stuff and it all goes along smoothly. Worked for me anyway!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
