I'ma bit nervous
Once you've passed though you lose all the fun of it within a week, there's nowhere to drive and you constantly worry about crashing and stuff!
I hate roundabouts, especially that one around Lakeside, the little one under the A13...

This is, in fact, not entirely true. At the weekends I am a motorcycle instructor (going full time soon), and I know the facts on this.
The DSA (Driving Standards Agency) have issued guidelines to the test centres on how many passes are expected with regard to the population of the area.
You won't fail your test because of this, but if a test centre is close to their quota for the month then they will be more likely to fail you on minor faults than if they were sub-quota. This also works the other way, that if they are low on their pass rate, you may be able to get away with more.
The test centres are wary of these figures, as a high pass rate over their quota can result in a standards check for the centre.
That said, if you do everything on the nail, they cannot fail you for the quotas.
Anyway...
I did ALL the driving last-lesson, and I felt really good about how well I did. Did some right-turns at a crossroads, and I shat myslef! But, I still managed to do it quite well (even though I had to wait bloody ages as the filter didn't come on!). It was a good lesson, I thouhgt (even though I was tempted to run-over this A-hole I know from school as I passed him on the left...! :D )
There I was, stopped outside my house at the end of the lesson, feeling pleased with myself that I hadn't stalled - not even once!
So, I put the handbrake on, free my feet, switch the enging off and... *BOOH-DUHM*, I stall!! Forgot about the gears, you see! :(
I still bring the clutch up way-too-fast when I pull-away though, and he keeps helping me with that, telling me to do it slowly. That's one main problem I'll have to sort-out if I want to pass first-time...
Other than that, I don't reckon I'll have too-many problems in the eventually Practical Test - other than Parking...
I'm confident I'll do the Theory first-time, though! :)
"He was still driving you on the 5th lesson? Are you a slow learner?"
Well, I take it all in, but I've forgotten it all again by the next lesson. It's only for a minute-or-two down the road, away from all the main traffic from the Bristol-to-Weston road that I'd just get in the way of. And I wouldn't be willing to do it anyway - not with so many people I know, around the area, aswell! :S
And Mojojojo, you should definitley give it a try - if only for a lesson-or-two. I too struggle with getting to grips with doing multiple things all-at-once, and I'm amazed that I STILL haven't been hit by a car on-foot, of on-bike, after a number of 'close-calls' in all my years. But after a few lessons, it does come quite naturally to you - just as long as you try not to actually think about what you're doing, too much.
Plus, you'll benefit a heck-of-a-lot in life from being able to drive!
No more over-priced bus journeys...
No more scabby fag-filled taxis....
No more having to rely on other people to give you a lift.....
Independence at its finest! :)

Or maybe even the brake....
:D
I'm pretty damn good... panic a bit coming up to roundabouts though and should use break more apparently.

That should say lesson.
