Sega recently shelved all it's GC sports titles in development due to poor performance of its GC titles.
Now one of the big hitters THQ has thrown doubt on the viability of developing for the Gamecube due to the more expensive (non standard discs) developement costs, but mostly to do with the GC continued poor performance particularly compared to the PS2.

"Our GameCube portfolio did not perform up to expectations," CEO Brian Farrell said during the conference call. "In response to this, we have reduced the number of products in development for the GameCube platform."

IB got laid.

Exactly. It has nothing to commend itself to me. Sod all.
XBox is much better, but the Cube has all the games Tiltawhirl listed. So thats sorted.

Not when it stops piracy and ensures they make a decent profit. It's simply a business decision. Nintendo's never gone for the mainstream look anyway.
Now, answer the question, how does it affect gameplay? If a person wants to play a game that badly, he won't mind changing discs. If he doesn't like changing discs, it indicates he's letting aesthetics get in the way of gaming and, in essence, he's not interested in gaming at all; just the "cool" image it portrays.

Errrr is that so.
Like what may I ask?
Gamecube has Resident Evil series, Eternal Darkness, Zelda, Mario, Pikmin, Smash Brothers, Killer 7, Monkey Ball, Dead Phoenix, Project 03, F Zero, 1080 Avalanche, Mario Kart etc etc
The only big name PS2 exclusives are GT3, GTA 3, Devil may Cry and ummmmmmmmmm Ratchet and Clank.
When it comes to exclusive games the PS2 does quite literally choke the big one.

Errrrrr Gamecube has been voted as the sexiest console design ever so that whole post is completly useless.
If you don't like purple then get a black one.

I have a black GC and it's perfectly acceptable. And even if I had a purple one it would make no difference because I'M NOT A BLOODY COLOUR CO-ORDINATING WOMAN. I use it to play game on, not to decide how pretty it looks next to my stereo system.

But back in the days of FF7 + 8, etc there was no choice. It had to be split onto 2 or more cd's. DVD wasn't around, or had only just been introduced and could not be used due to cost, etc.
This is not 1998 anymore. DVD is here now & offers the extra space, and is a common standard, and plays movies! It's silly of Ninty to use a crippled, custom, limited format.
For cross platform games, they are generally better on the Xbox than any other console, and Xbox Live is just the best gaming experience available at the moment.
The PS2 has the best single player exclusive titles.
The Gamecube has, pretty colours and "cute" discs. Have Nintendo not realised that outside of their core fanbase, their image stinks? How many people 20+ want to have a modern, contemporary styled flat, with a purple Gamecube sitting near their TV?? Not many, the Xbox fits in with the expensive stereo seperates and DVD player style, and the PS2 has the Sony name on it, style is everything, even Britney wouldn't be seen dead with a Gamecube.
