"How fantastic is skies of Arcadia?"

Despite naff graphics I am loving this Skies game. Picked it up along with 3 other games (see my £50 in cambridge thread) for a mere £19 and I can't imagine a closer RPG alternative to Zelda. Vast, expansive, encourages exploration and a deep story. In fact as storylines go it moves at a far faster pace than that Wind Waker game.

Great game, feels a bit like Starfox to play (not quite sure why) but of course i mean that in a good way.

If you can find it buy it. You won't regret it. Roll on Skies 2.

Now i'm at yafutoma, and Kazai mountain cave was tempting to run away but i managed it, beat my fav boss (really it is) and now at the exile place.

Red Gigas:

I'm on my second play through, and made sure I bought a secondary cannon before this fight.

But when Drachma picked me up again it had been un-equipped (along with all my other accessories), and I couldn't put it back on. I think I actually lost it completely. So I suppose it's not actually possible to have a secondary cannon for the fight.

I figure that means you can only knock it off balance with the harpoon cannon.

Still, if you guard and focus then you don't need repair kits (plenty of spirit for sacr-whatever). I actually got to Belleza with full health that way, and then she's just a matter of playing it safe-ish until you can use the harpoon to finish her.

Easy when you know how :^)



Not impressed about the captain's stripes thing though. That last ship battle was a killer first time round. I'd have probably walked it if I'd used my infinite heap of stripes beforehand :^\

Running away: Never actually done that. Mind you I probably should have. I came up against about 7 of those blue magic birds near Maramba yesterday. They got the first turn, 3 of them used Eternes and everyone was dead before I'd had a chance to pick my first moves!
Then again, I still wouldn't have had the chance to run...

You probably had a heck-load of healing items left over.. I never usually buy any, that's why I'm in an unwinnable situation right now.. can't be bothered to re-start.

Now 9 moonfish and 11 chams to go before i got them all.
