"How fantastic is skies of Arcadia?"

Despite naff graphics I am loving this Skies game. Picked it up along with 3 other games (see my £50 in cambridge thread) for a mere £19 and I can't imagine a closer RPG alternative to Zelda. Vast, expansive, encourages exploration and a deep story. In fact as storylines go it moves at a far faster pace than that Wind Waker game.

Great game, feels a bit like Starfox to play (not quite sure why) but of course i mean that in a good way.

If you can find it buy it. You won't regret it. Roll on Skies 2.

Got this game last weekend off Ebay for about £17...

Rules.

I've pretty much neglected all school work for the last week... so very addictive.

I'm sure the Captains Stripes carry over, because my ship health is at least 50000, and I have only used 3 Stripes on it.

I think.

I am now up to the part where i am heading off to Esparanza flying in my new ship the Delphinus, and with all the Captain's stripes i saved it went from 36,000Hp to 44,000Hp. only need 10 moonfish, 12 chams and 1 Abrik Cham to finish my collection.

So far so good on my non-coward poilicy, it isn't as hard as i thought seeing as i mangaged only 9 run aways on my second try, from a 96 run away on my first time.

I didn't have secondary cannons at Belleza, or at least not that set up.

This time round even though i had lots of magic droplets forgot to get another secondary cannon, but it only affected my fight with the red gigas on the last round of battle before I went on the Belleza, I was hit once and I healed it straight away on the first turn against belleza.

Shame that I don't then. I'm stuck in a rut and I'm going to have to restart, I know it. Buggering annoying.

They increase the health of the ship you use, if i were you I would save all of them (even the ones you win using the little jack) for the Delphinus coz you can get a maximum of 54,000 hp for it.

I am now at the Desert island/Nasrad quest, got all the moonfish and chams i can get at that point in the game (which is quite good for me, but it is my 3rd time) and most of the 3rd spells are at my disposal.

What do they actually do then?

I finished the game without using any of them, I figured they were just a nice way to keep track of how many ships you'd beat :^S


Started again last night, saved over my solstis file too.

Wait until Tale of Symphonia and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles come out. Then we will see.
