I dunno if any1 is gonna agree with me on this one, but I think that the first year of the PS2 has been almost a waste of time, it started well with SSX, quake revolution was ok no online play though, GT3 is amazing and is well worth it, but what else!?? Tekken Tag, what a let down, driving emotion type S made me laugh and ridge racer 5 barely scraped past the finish line! Is that it, is that what £300 brings you over one year, there should be at least 40 top class titles to choose from! At least next year looks a lot more promising, with the likes of Metal Gear Solid 2, Tekken 4 and Devil May Cry in the pipeline the PS2 is looking up, but the fact remains that 1 year of the PS2's short lifespan has gone! Has the first year been a waste?

Maybe true that a lot of games producers aren't getting the most out of the PS2, but its like the N64 it was hard to use so only Rare and Nintendo got the full power out of it. Its the same with the PS2 most 3rd party developers havent been able to get the most out of it.

No, what you see is not what you get. Kojima has already said that MGS2 is not 100% what the PS2 can do because he made mistakes early on. His next game will be even better, and so will the one after that. The PS2 is a complicated beast we'll all be surprised at what it can do. Everyone said GT1 wasn't possible, but Kazunori did it and then did it better with GT2! You wait and see my friend.

and i think it was good the way nintendo gave away the Expansion pak. free with a game!
Not really, it just means the console lasts longer, your not forcing people to buy the addon, you will just need it to get the most out of the Gamecube. Anyway say what you will about the expansion packs, but I think there a good idea and I think most Nintys will agree that they are. Judging by some of the dodgy graphics ive seen on the PS2, the Ps2 could do with an expansion. (0:
ZElda was the only game u had to buy a expansion pak to play. DK64 came with an expansion pak...and PD worked witohout the expansion pak but had very limited options.

Sony haven't released a keyboard, and none of the above peripherals are required to play any game, but as I remember the Expansion Pak was.
People buy a console because they know they won't have to spend any more money on it. If you force someone to pay more for a console then it stops becoming a console.

pritty sad that MGS2 is pushing the PS2 to its limit soo early in its life. so how many years will the PS2 last? another two maybe?
