Recently some of the signs have not been good, increased interest in the GC which goes on sale 3 days before the X-box in the states. That could well lose the X-box some customers.
But the X-box does have a few tricks up its sleeve, DOA3 being X-box exclusive is one of them. Also Sega are meant to be finishing off the Shenmue series on X-box only. With sequels to some of the DCs greatest games at the moment appearing to be X-box exclusives then it should have quite a few good gams.
But the question is will you get one?
I know that I would like an X-box and I am convinced that it will be a good platform but it looks to me like GC will be the format I favour when it comes around to release time.
I would like to know who of you will get an X-box, who will not and who possibly will get one if finances stretch taht far.
So?
Biggles
A pentium 733 and a geforce 3, effectively the Xbox, in a Pc will outperform all consoles now. this is with the confining architecture of a Pc.
I dont really think Microsoft would make that mistakes they are a big company employing some of the best minds in the business.
Ignorance is bliss until something goes wrong, and then you complain saying "why didn't you tell me". Stupid.
In an engine, you've got to get the fuel to it to keep it running. Say it's max power is 300bhp, providing you can get the fuel to it. Say you've got a solid gold fuel line but it's not too wide. This is the P3. It can't get enough fuel to the engine, so while the engine is trying to get 300bhp, it's not getting the fuel and stalls (crashes). What you need to do is get a bigger fuel line. A bog-standard steel one will do (this is the Athlon). That way, you get max. fuel to the engine and it's all hunky-dory.
OK, so despite the dubious solid-gold bit, that's just about what he's talking about.
It contains an Intel Pentium 3 processor running at 733 mhz. This is no where near fast enough to feed data to the GPU to alow the GPU to reach it's full capacity. Microsoft know this and recently reduced the speed of the GPU to compensate for it outperforming the processor, causing game crashed. It is poorly desinged and flawed, the Xbox, will never be able to reach ptoential because of this bad processor, why the didn't pu tan AMD Athlon in it, I'll never know.
