"It's Zelda for Grown-ups" - IGN

It's this kind of comment that makes me want to headbutt people.

It's on the advert for BG&E, it's on the inside cover of NGC, among other places. You'd think IGN had more sense..

It's less 'fun' but more 'enjoyable'.

But I only play games for fun, and that's why I think Metroid Prime is rubbish. I find it hard to understand how it can be 'better' if it's less fun.

Too many games developers are going down the 'better' route these days, which is why I rarely buy or play games anymore.

Indeed, I have to agree with that.

However, it's just better than any of those aforementioned titles.

The 'fun' factor in Metroid Prime is nothing compared to things like Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, Super Monkey Ball or Mario Kart: Super Circuit.

I can honestly find no flaws in Metroid Prime. The backtracking was fine because things changed in different areas as you progressed, it was never boring, one of the most perfect games I've ever played.

Of course, some people hated the backtracking, controls and the like. Those people are fools. :-P

But I do see why people didn't like it.

It just took a hold though - I can't explain it much better.

Oh, and multiplayer will suck on so many levels. Worse than XIII's.

You really can't have played it much at all, then. The self-contained storyline is a stroke of genius, the controls, while hard to get used to, some become fluid and suit the game perfectly. The boss battles are some of the best you're likely to ever see, and the scanning mini-quest (so to speak) gives Prime an addictive edge.

Nintendo's premier franchises have nothing on Prime, it's probably the best game of our generation.

It's not boring. I found it involving and most of all an odd hybrid of epic and arcade.

I loved it.

It is BORING I just hope the multiplayer in the second will keep it interesting for me.
