I figured seeing as there seems to be a fair few people into importing like myself around here that we should have our own thread to talk about the latest American and Japanese releases and also to have a bit of a laugh at the European gamers and feel superior with our access to better games :-D

So lets get talking about the latest games coming out overseas

Right La Pucelle Tactics has arrived and had a quick blast on it. Very obvious this was the game Disgaea came from as it's virtually identical in the graphics department and command section. Still equally as good from what i've played so far and still as hilarious.

Still not got onto Generation of Chaos yet, must make time for that.

Looking into getting the Ghost in the Shell game and Crimson Tears next. Both look interesting

Got my latest batch of games today come through the post (thanks Lee and Shigero :-D) Hitman Contracts, Fight Night 2004, Front Mission 4 and Generation of Choas IV

Had a quick blast of Hitman Contracts, controls feel alot more smoother and faster than in Hitman 2 which i feel is a good thing. Just went on a wild slaughter fest, will actually play it properly sometime soon

Fight Night 2004 is the one i thought i'd like the least but has surprisingly been my favourite, got totally owned the first fight trying to get used to the new control system but after a few fights i've gotten used to it now. Smacked the hell out of Lewis with Ali knocking him out early in the second round, he's the greatest still.

Had a quick go on my japanese version of Front Mission 4, luckily the speech seems to be in English and only the text boxes and instructions are in japanese, outstanding cutscenes, a trademark of square-enix really. Just played the tutorial, pretty easy to work out even if you aren't a japanese speaker so far as it has stuff like L2 on the screen so you can pretty much work out what it's telling you, luckily i can read japanese anyway :-D

Generation of Chaos i haven't had time for yet, another japanese game i may play it tomorrow

Well Star Ocean 2 was released in Europe but didn't sell well because it didn't have the name Final Fantasy so no one, apart from me :-D, bought it, which makes me even more shocked they actually are releasing it in Europe if this story is true. Obviously Square think the Enix RPG will be more successful now it'll have their name on the box as well

Should be here on Monday apparently, so i'm just passing the time with Disgaea and Socom. Can't wait for it actually it looks amazing and i loved Front Mission 3

I'd be amazed as well. It was GamesTM where the article emerged, it could've been a misprint, since when has an RPG of the magnitude of Star Ocean been released in the PAL territory as well.

Any word on your Front Mission 4 yet mate?

Euro release in August? Are you sure? Didn't mean America because it'll be really bizarre and probably a first if an RPG as big as this comes out at the same time in the States and Europe

Good thing I would say. Square/Enix aren't fobbing the Western audience off with the first version of the game. Probably explains the continuous delays the game has invoked.

The article also went onto say that the game WILL be seeing a European release in August!

Bizarre!

Whilst sitting on the bog this morning, was reading that Star Ocean's Western release will actually be based on the Japanese Director's Cut, which came on 2-discs.

Well after next week when i get La Pucelle, Hitman and Front Mission 4 i should have bought around 20 games this last month. However i'm stopping for a while now so i can actually complete some of them, but now i got Socom 2 online that may be a problem
