No details yet, but it's apparently been in development since 2002. There's loads of exclusive info about it in the October issue of Game Informer, so I guess when that comes out we'll be able to get all the first bits of info and screenshots of it.

We've still got a long wait though, i've just gone ack and started anew with Morrowind with tons of mods to enhance my gaming needs, including a dragon campanion and some random wild cats, rabbits, and foxes. I can also buy lots of other creatures too from a program called Abigail's petshop in game.

Well with most huge gaming developers they have separate divisions for separate games, so I'm sure that they are working on both at the same time,it's just that they are going to take a long time if they split up the work, instead of have the entire company working one game at a time.
Ah, got you. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing what they are going to do with Fallout 3, though that'll doubtfully get touched until the completion of Oblivion.
I just was saying about how much time RARE usally took to make games and they ended up being just below par games in design, but bethusda should be using the time to make it massive and the graphics to stay true throughout.
Isn't it Bethesda who are developing the Elder Scrolls?
I think that this will be one awsomely huge game especially since it's been 2 years in the making already, but if they go by RARE's standards of gaming developing then it's probably 1/4 finished, lets hope it's 3/4.
