Read that in my paper this morning before my run, and then amused myself by thinking of Mikey while running (not in a gay way).
Stevie says he'll talk to him in the England training camp. No-one can turn down Stevie. No man, no woman.

But if it was my professional I'd take more interest, especially if a team made a bid for me. I am a big supporter of English football... I don't have much interest in international or European football, although I have some basic knowledge of the big european clubs.
Footballers do their research, they know the big teams. They'll have met many of the players in one way or another.
I doubt many transfers go like this:
"Hey Emre, both Grimsby and Chelsea have made bids of 8m for you, interested?"
"Yeah sure, go for it. Grimsby sounds nicer, that'll do."
More likey:
"Who's offering the most £..?"
Still not quite sure the relevance of that though as that's just common sense.
I suppose they might also know any fellow countrymen at the club, but in Emre's case there were no other Turks at Newcastle. Though Souness formally managed Galatasary - was Emre there at the time?
Who was it that asked you about Udinese? Good question. You wouldn't have a clue. At all. Or Real Betis. If someone asks you about them, you'll probably say 'Doesn't Wackin support them?' and then fall over.
Shut up, Dringo.
I don't know what your point is anymore
A lot of footballers don't take an interest in football, Roy Keane for example, as they're often brought up.
And, being a footballer seems to lower the IQ slightly, so it's unlikely he'd remember them anyway.

No, but if I was an international footballer the chances are I would.
