Another thread on Mikey, true. But I have to keep my hopes up. Losing my favourite 'Pool striker is a blow that can only be softened with the return of the only 'Pool player I have loved more than him. Mikey is on his way back - that's what The Times seems to think:

Read that in my paper this morning before my run, and then amused myself by thinking of Mikey while running (not in a gay way).

Stevie says he'll talk to him in the England training camp. No-one can turn down Stevie. No man, no woman.

Newcastle are just a local club. They don't and never have done anything good in Europe, they don't get any respect from anyone else in the Premiership - the only team that cares who they are is Sunderland - and as for Parker et al being Englandisher internationals!!!!, sorry to break it to you, but they're squad players. At best.

The only world-class player they've had for the last 10 years has been Shearer.

So, Dringo, in conclusion, you're wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong. Go tidy your room.

Parker, Shearer, Dyer, Jenas and Bowyer are all English internationals, you know England, seen as one of the best footballing teams in the world???

Newcastle are big in the same way Spurs are big. They have a big name... they have a large fan base... they just haven't won too much lately.

Big compared to what, exactly? Sunderland?

Big fan base, yeah, big money, yeah, big players?

Yeah... but what we're saying is that you and Newcastle seem to be the only people that consider them a big team.
