Formatted computer, speakers aren't working, no idea how to sort them.

Add and Remove Hardware doesn't work, says This device cannot start.

Worked fine before, not fiddled with any wires.

Ideas?

Put them in, no little bubble came up saying new hardware detected.

Were they plugged in when you started up the computer?

That always stops them from working...
