Well considering it is now today at Valve (with the eight hour time difference) and there's no patch, I'd like to say, woot (for being right... I still want the patch :P).

Same here... TBH though, I've hardly noticed any issues with HL2.

Patch should be out anytime betwee 11am and 5am PST = 7pm tonight - 3am tomorrow GMT. Not holding my breath though.

Screwing up on release dates when yo have no one to answer is one thing. When you have x thousand users complaining about the same thing is another. They're under pressure now to redeme themselves.

the Steam Validation fix took the 24 hours because of angry users, this should be turned about just as fast, especially as it's a source engine issue which they've licenced out all over the place.

Never got on with Omegas, and most of their drivers are tweaked Bets with just a couple of bits removed. in all honesty the Official ATI 4.12 Betas do the job perfectly

4.12 are much better than the 4.11's the 4.12's were specifically tweaked for HL2! Been running them for about 2 weeks now and had a 20% increase in performance in CS:Source alone!;)
