Anyone catch the Colts vs Patriots game to kick off the start of the 85th NFL season? Was a great way to start the season and i hope all the games are as entertaining. Was in a strange situation where i couldn't care who actually won this as i find New England to be horribly boring and Ty Law to be very annoying (he takes arrogance to a whole new level, he makes Jose Mourinho look like the most modest man in the world) and Indianapolis aren't much better with Peyton 'Most over-hyped player ever' Manning leading the charge.

Was good to hear the greatest commentating duo in all of sports Al Michaels and the legend John Madden back once again, no one can beat them.

But anyway the game, few interceptions thrown by Manning showing just how average he is and proving once more New England is not his favourite place (Vick and McNabb are far better) and Ty Law spending most of the game on the bench and when he did come on he got schooled by Marvin Harrison (and why Manning wasn't throwing to him more often i've no idea, he's your best reciever you muppet, use him) Great ending as well with McGuinness sacking him and leaving VanDerJagt with a hard field goal which he missed when he should have only had about a 35 yard attempt to knock threw the sticks.

Bring on the rest of the season

No. Patriots scored with about 5 seconds to go.

Then the Panthers decided to run back the kick rather than downing the ball to give Delhomme one last chance. Which was quite stupid.

Yes, I must admit, when I heard the Eagles were to play the Falcons in the Championship I jumped with joy, as it meant one of them had to go through.

I wanted the Eagles to win the Superbowl as soon as Seattle were put out(well, I knew they were going to lose anyway), so I'm still happy.

What also rocks, is that my prelims start on Feb 7th, so, I asked if I could stay up downstairs and watch the Superbowl on the big TV, seeing as my first exam is on the 8th (I've only got 2, woop woop), and that's just Maths anyway.

Anyway.

GO EAGLES!!
And all that.

Also, I think it's better that the Pats are through, because they are a better team.

They may play boringly, but if the Eagles can get it together, they could force them to play differently, and hopefully we'll get another close finish.

Did SUperbowl XXXVIII go into OT?
I can't remember, I'm SURE it did, but I truely cannot recall.

If Vick waited that long to release his pass while dancing around the pocket we'd only have one play a quarter :-D

Vick's problem was that if he didn't see anything open, he tucked it down and decided to run with it. As soon as the defense saw him panic, they all went into Vick contain mode, treating him like a runner. As soon as he shifts his feet he puts his head down and doesn't look downfield again, so the defenders stop worrying about the pass. What makes McNabb so dangerous isn't that he's as fast or as agile as Vick, but that he scrambles to get his recievers open, rather than to gain 3 yards on the ground.
His eyes are upfield throughout the play, and he'll only run for it if he sees a legitimate chance and knows that he can't pass it.
If Vick danced around in the pocket avoiding the rush for as long as he can, there would be a wide open reciever on every Falcons play, if only he wouldn't be so tempted to run with it.

Would have much rather seen the Steelers in the Superbowl, but it was really a lose-lose situation right from the start, as the Pats are extremely boring, while the Steelers are just plain boring. I like the Bus, though.

AJ is supporting Eagles now, even if they did beat my Vick.

For putting on a good match and not boring the crap out of everyone:
NFC Championship teams > AFC Championship teams

Wouldn't have minded either the Falcons or Eagles going through as i like them both. Hopefully though Mora can get it through to Vick that when you run with the ball put it up in your forearm once he's past the line of scrimmage instead of holding it in his hands, that's why he fumbles alot.

God knows how Pittsburgh have such a good record with the play calling i've seen in the last two games. It was obvious the Patriots were playing the run every first down so why not chuck a playaction in? That starts to make the Pats think that the Steelers are more than one dimensional and then it opens up some running lanes for Staley and the Bus instead of getting met with 9 tacklers as soon as they get the ball.

Still, at least the Eagles didn't lose to The Patriots in the Regular season like they did with the Steelers.
(They were humped in the preseason though......)
