Anyone catch the Colts vs Patriots game to kick off the start of the 85th NFL season? Was a great way to start the season and i hope all the games are as entertaining. Was in a strange situation where i couldn't care who actually won this as i find New England to be horribly boring and Ty Law to be very annoying (he takes arrogance to a whole new level, he makes Jose Mourinho look like the most modest man in the world) and Indianapolis aren't much better with Peyton 'Most over-hyped player ever' Manning leading the charge.

Was good to hear the greatest commentating duo in all of sports Al Michaels and the legend John Madden back once again, no one can beat them.

But anyway the game, few interceptions thrown by Manning showing just how average he is and proving once more New England is not his favourite place (Vick and McNabb are far better) and Ty Law spending most of the game on the bench and when he did come on he got schooled by Marvin Harrison (and why Manning wasn't throwing to him more often i've no idea, he's your best reciever you muppet, use him) Great ending as well with McGuinness sacking him and leaving VanDerJagt with a hard field goal which he missed when he should have only had about a 35 yard attempt to knock threw the sticks.

Bring on the rest of the season

Having watched a couple of games lately it's made me play Madden 04 again. My advanced tactical knowledge and further understanding of techniques used, mean that my attack is awesome. My defence is still the shattest thing ever though. Ah, it's all just like it was before, except slightly improved all around, but just as embarassing.

I still don't see why people love Manning so much. In the 4 games I've seen him play, he's been at fault for more incidents than your average QB. I wouldn't rate him up there at all, atleast from what I've seen.

I think Atlanta will win next week, being the form side. Also, they seem to have improved their all round game of late, which helps. Still can't see anyone but Patriots winning the SB though.

I don't think they're as boring as some of you say, purely because they're amazingly successful and some of their defensive moves and the general independant thinking shown in their defensive teams is amazing. At one point last night for example, McGinest was waiting in the same spot for 4 seconds and due to the movement of the defence, Manning was forced to through it right to him. Unfortunately he had to swat, but it was probably one of the most successful traps ever.

The patriots will win this weekend because they don't make stupid mistakes. They prepare well and have better gameplans which they don't have to abandon half way through the game. On defense they make the offense react to them, rather than the other way round, and on offense they just pound it out and every so often draw up a passing play which is so well designed that it works every time. The Steelers are a good team but they're not as precise. I'm not particularly looking forward to the AFC Championship because I don't want either team to win (just like last year's superbowl). At least come February 6th there'll be a decent, interesting team in the Superbowl.

2 things i picked up from the Steelers game.

Probably the worst bit of play calling i've ever seen with 1st and 10 with 1:47 left remaining when the steelers had the ball. Run the damn thing twice and knock the stuffing out the Jets a bit more while taking a chunk of time off the clock, don't chuck the damn thing about 20 odd yards and get it picked you idiots.

Luckily though they were bailed out by Doug Brien, who will most likely be having quite alot of free time on his hands now. That my dear friends is what we in the business call choking. A NFL kicker should be making those attempts, at least if he wants to stay in the NFL anyway. Jets will most likely be getting a new kicker in the off-season

Falcons game was great, my boy Vick just straight killed the Rams as they didn't have any answer to him. Rams need to look at their special teams, they were awful.

Eagles vs Vikings, no shocks there McNabb guiding his team through, lets see if they can go a step further this year.

Patriots vs Colts, didn't watch it, didn't care who won or lost as i hate both of them and with the Patriots knew it'd be a boring game. I just hope the Steelers crush them and their walking wounded defence next week so we don't have another bore-a-thon Superbowl

So the first half has been pretty boring, mainly because it's the Patriots. Even though they're being clever and doing good things, they still manage to make football boring. They even make Manning boring.

I bloody hope he does, but after the Steelers ESCAPED with 2 missed field goals, I can see the Patriots doing the exact same thing.

Falcons next. It all depends on whether they can stop the run, as Atlanta has naff all in the way of a passing game.

Also, Colts-Pats now. Come on Manning, defeat the crudmonkeys.

This game is good but my heart won't be able to take another Eagles Championship game.

I think I'll do pretty well as I had Vick and Bettis and Crumpler, all of whom went through. If my memory serves, you can't make any choices this week so if you didn't pick winners, you lose out.

Oh, and unless you predicted the Colts will win, you are WRONG.

Because they will.
I can sense it.

Oh, and I forgot to fix my Superbowl.com fantasy team, so I'll be doing crap (because half my palyers were in the losing wildcard teams).
