I'm seriously considering joining the police instead of going to uni - I think I've really had enough of being educated. I just want to DO something rather than being some crappy person who just writes stuff and doesnt actually make a difference. I think making a difference in life is the most important thing you can do and by upholding the law you're making a difference!

I don't know a great deal of what sort of thing I'd be undertaking by joining the force but I am sure it is better than etching out my existance in a lowly cubicle of a generic office block.

I want to get some information packs send so if you know any websites or places I can phone or write to to ask then can you help me out.

Thanks

I must admit I would give kids wearing Kappa an evil look everytime I saw them.

Oh, I realise there are dedicated police officers and they are a vital part of society. I just think, from the recurring news articles and the general attitude, that there's a culture of serving only the parts of society that they want to in the police.

But do you see how in fact you are now just as bad?
You are now thinking worse of all police just because of your experience with a few, which means you’re doing just the same as those officers who pick on people because they are young and wearing a certain piece of clothing.

Alrighty then, just checking. Not saying I call 'em that, I just have less respect for the police than I do for doctors/paramedics/nurses/firemen e.t.c.

Just personal experience with them doing sod all to solve crimes and being biased on the basis of age & race. You don't get that sort of stuff in hospitals & the like.

Something like this would be said.

“I find that to be offensive. If you continue to use words such as that you could be arrested.”

Ah, right, cheers. Probably classifies as an abuse of power, but where would the boys be without that?

Yes, a warning would be given first though.

Well that's technically assault on an officer, isn't it? So he's stupid and should get a good kicking in the gonads by the oh-so-dedicated boys in blue.

I think they can arrest you for "abuse" like that. I remember when they came to our school once and a NED chucked a grape at one of them and it got him on the back of the head. They took him away in their "Pigwagon". I think it was just for show though.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
