I don't know a great deal of what sort of thing I'd be undertaking by joining the force but I am sure it is better than etching out my existance in a lowly cubicle of a generic office block.
I want to get some information packs send so if you know any websites or places I can phone or write to to ask then can you help me out.
Thanks

Right, admirable goals, but then why police? Being a paramedic, for example, would help a lot more people.

I don't fell its 'my duty', at all. I want to be a writer, but most writers (Im not talking newspapers or colouring in books/tabloids here) begin writing whilst in another job as a hobby until they get recognised and then get published and make it as a professional. Sure, a creative writing course might make me a bit more appreciative of different audiences and things but they cannot teach originality.
The police are quasi- ..?

Hmm I see, how much do you get paid per year? and how much is like the top pay?

No, not all police work those hours.
We are usually in bad moods because of what a member of the public has done.

Nah, but you'd probably have to lie about your political leanings...
Sorry, sorry, I'll stop now.

Well done, EB, you just summed up my views.
If you break the law, you deserve to get fined.
