Glad you had a good time mate, while the Moto2 race was on I was actually still in A & E (details in the General Thread) turns out I have a torn muscle in my groin to add to my list of injuries which is unbelievably painful.Got 2 unused grandstand passes in pristine condition for yesterday and one priority car park pass, not a happy bunny! :(
Oh dear, I feel really bad now!
Those injuries sound very nasty, I can't imagine you would have felt much better sat in the rain at silverstone though (as if that's any consolation).
The viewing was a lot better than I thought it would be though, and I'm now more excited about the weekend visit to cadwell at the end of august!
Hope you feel better soon though!
Didn't have time to watch the WSB yet, hopefully I'll get a chance tonight.
Saw a few overtakes & even more wobbles too!
We also had the access road to the pits/paddock behind us, so saw both Lorenzo and Simoncelli perching on the back of scooters going back to the pits!
Just as the 125s started, we saw Karel Abraham's spare bike being pushed towards it's lorry, so I asked nicely and had my picture taken with it!
On second thoughts heavy rain might not actually be so bad.Stoner was nearly a second faster than anyone else in first free practice in the dry :(
Heavy rain would be awful - it would mean we have to go in the car, and that would be really disappointing!
It might make the race a little more interesting though, Crutchlow in 4th after FP2!
Pedrosa is not on racing Sunday (and will not be replaced) but Edwards has said he's going to give it a go! Respect to him for that.
Regarding Crutchlow,a top 6 finish would be a very respectable result IMO but I just suspect he may have other ideas.Got to admire his spirit,he's certainly not afraid of having a go.
Here you go mate, the final corner of the 125 race I'm good to you ! :)
That you are!
That's all it took to be handed a penalty?
Jesus, that's pathetic, maybe they should all be given their own lane on the track so they don't get too near each other........
Thanks for the viewing tips too! I'm planning on leaving for the circuit at around 6 in the morning (it's only 90 miles away), so should be there in plenty of time to take in a few viewpoints.
iAnother rider killed at the TT today, much as love the event it certainly has a very dark and ugly side to it.
Yeah I saw that, only 34 too, but I guess no one forces them to do it.
EDIT : Just realised Silverstone will be the first GP circuit that Cal Crutchlow has actually raced on before and remember how well he went there in WSBK?,add to that some serious crowd support and hopefully he should be on for a very good result.
Let's hope he doesn't do a JT and go for it too much at the start and come off at the first or second corner!
Regarding view points at Silverstone, first you have to remember that the start/finish straight is right at the other end of the circuit this year (after Club Corner).Stowe,Vale and the Club Chicane are always good to watch the race from but if you get there in time for the morning warm up I would recommend the Becketts section. It's an awesome place to watch the GP boys from, although sod all ever happens in the race through there so wouldn't recommend staying there all day.Another thing to consider is where the TV screens are, much better if you can see one during the race.Other than that,it's going to be awesome.I just hope it's not going to be another Honda demonstration run (unless it's a certain white one!).If the weather is bad then the race might be more exciting but I went to Donington the year it absolutely hammered down (2005-ish?) and as they came screaming through the Craner Curves for the first time all I could see was a crapload of spray but no bikes!

GP was rubbish,it was like 2 wheeled F1.Hope Silverstone is much better than that.
It was a bit dull (though nothing compared to the Miller WSB). Moto2 always seems to be more eventful than the main event - I'm making sure I'm at silverstone in time for it, just in case the GP is just as dull next week!
Well done by Crutchlow though!
Race direction seem to have opened a whole can of worms with the Simoncelli penalty, another one handed to Zarco in the 125 race (who did pretty much what Rossi did to Gibernau a few years back) while the Simon/Sofuoglu crash in Moto 2 is apparently now being looked at by race direction? Really sorry to hear that Simon has broke his leg in 2 places in that crash but if that was not a racing incident then I honestly don't know what is? Sofuoglu went down hard and unfortunately took Simon with him, that was it really.Anyway, whatever they said to Simoncelli on Thursday seemed to work,he looked almost afraid to race anyone yesterday. Can't see that lasting very long though!
Didn't see the 125s this week, but general consensus seems to be that it was quite unnecessary - Don't see how the Simon/Sofuoglu incident can be anything other than a racing incident, one bike lost grip and slid in to another. If the riders could guarantee perfect grip, racing would be a lot different!
Simoncelli did look scared at the start, you can't blame him though. God knows what HRC told him after the last race, he'd be better off in WSB, people just bash back there, there's no snivelling to race direction about the nasty man on the bike!
Regardless, still really excited about Silverstone, hoping the weather isn't just torrential rain so we can come on the bike. Never been before, any tips on the best viewing points?
