X-Box and PS are both squarly aimed primarily at the middle market...
This is the market where the cash is... though no-one single middle market games-player will ever buy as many games as a single hobbyist gamer...
The number of middle market players is where the money is...
And given the cost of producing a console, and titles capible of competing in todays market the Nintendo wont have enough buyers cash to make this possible...
There may be one more full size console left in Nintendo... but its future is left only as a handheld machine...
(at least until Sony & Microsoft dicede to attak the market)

'Cube.

Yup. Though I already own one of those, so what does that leave? The Cube. The fact that it'll offer games I can't get anywhere else clinches it for me. I've already got a PC; I don't need a X-Box to enjoy the games that'll be coming out for it. The vast majority will be available for PC anyway.
As for the PS2: I've lost some respect for Sony. I don't plan on buying the thing if they can't bother to ensure that they'll be available from the very start. Additionally, the lack of controller ports is either negligence or utter greed. That's right, Sony, this is the age of multiplayer. Did you fail to receive the memo? Tell you what: Knock 50 off the thing's price tag, add two more controller ports, release some good and unique games, and remove the crappy DVD compatibility. Then I'll consider buying the PS2. Otherwise, I'll wait for the Cube.

Oh it's true, it's TRUE!

Thank you. You summed up my reason for ignoring the X-Box wonderfully.
