Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be deaf? How disorientating it could be, and how much you would miss out on everday sounds of the world? Do you think you would rememeber what your family and friends sounded like when you could hear them? How do you think you would cope?

I was diagnosed with a condition that can cause deafness among other things 2 years ago and last friday I was told that I am going to lose my hearing in both ears, that nothing more can be done to prevent it.

do you mind if i ask more, I am quite interested in these kind of situations and i have to admit it is something that daunts me a fair bit. Obviously feel free to tell me to mind my own business, but do you mind if i ask why its coming about, and the timespan, its going to happen over?
